보육교사의 직업선택동기와 직업존중감이 재직의도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 보육교사의 직업선택동기, 직업존중감, 재직의도의 일반적 경향을 알아보고, 직업선택동기와 직업존중감이 재직의도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 서울특별시와 수도권에 소재한 어린이집에 재직하는 보육교사 178명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 28.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 신뢰도 분석, 독립표본 t검증, 일원분산분석 및 sheffé 사후검증, Pearson 상관관계분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 통계적 유의성을 검증하였다. 결과 보육교사의 학력과 시설유형에 따라 재직의도에 차이를 보였으며, 직업선택동기 하위요인 중 교직적성, 사회적 존경과 직업존중감이 재직의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 상대적 영향력을 비교해 보았을 때 직업존중감이 직업선택동기보다 재직의도에 미치는 영향이 크게 나타났다. 결론 보육교사의 재직의도에는 직업선택동기 중 보육적성 및 직업적 안정성과 직업존중감이 영향을 미침에 따라 보육교사직을 선택할 때 적성을 파악하고 직업에 대한 긍지와 자부심을 가지는 태도가 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study was investigated to examine the general trends in childcare teachers' career choice motivation, job esteems, and intent to stay, as well as to explore the impact of career choice motivation and job respect on their intent to stay. Methods Data were collected from 178 childcare teachers working at daycare centers located in Seoul and the metropolitan area. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 28.0. Statistical significance was verified through reliability analysis, independent sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA with Scheffé post hoc tests, Pearson correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results The results showed that differences in intent to stay were observed based on childcare teachers' educational background and facility types. Among the sub-factors of career choice motivation, teaching aptitude, social respect, and job esteems were found to influence intent to stay. When comparing their relative influence, job esteems had a greater impact on intent to stay than career choice motivation. Conclusions The intent to stay is influenced by career choice motivation, including factors such as suitability for childcare, job stability, and job esteems. This suggests that it is important to assess suitability when choosing a career as a childcare teacher and to develop an attitude of pride and self-esteem toward the profession.
