한국어 초급 학습자를 위한 생성형 AI 활용 말하기 과제 개발과 교수·학습 방안 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 한국어 초급 학습자가 혼사서도 말하기 연습을 할 수 있도록 생성형 AI를 활용한 과제를 개발하는 것이다. 방법 과제 개발은 ADDIE 모형을 활용해 분석, 설계, 개발, 실행, 평가의 5단계로 이루어졌다. 과제 개발 후 연구자가 먼저 테스트해 보고 수업에 적용한 후 문제점을 보완하였다. 또한 학습자의 의견과 과제 수행 자료 분석을 토대로 효과적인 과제 활용 방안을 제시하였다. 결과 대화 성공률을 높이기 위해서는 챗GPT를 주 도구로 활용할 것, 긴 발화를 할 때에는 시간 끌기 전략을 사용할 것, 챗봇에게 학습자에게 서로를 어떻게 부를지 알려줄 것, 교수자가 적절한 피드백을 제공하고 챗봇의 최신 정보와 장단점을 숙지하고 있을 것, 프롬프트 입력은 텍스트로 하고 학습자가 먼저 대화를 시작할 것을 제안하였다. 또한 챗봇과 대화 연습 후 짝 활동이나 발표 등의 후속 과제를 제시하는 것이 효과적이라고 보았다. 결론 본 연구는 학습자가 교실 밖에서도 주도적으로 말하기 연습을 할 수 있도록 생성형 AI를 활용해 수행할 수 있는 과제를 개발하고 활용 방안을 구체적으로 제시했다는 데에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to develop tasks utilizing generative AI to enable beginner learners of Korean to practice speaking on their own. Methods Task development followed the five stages of the ADDIE model: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. After developing the tasks, the researcher first tested them, applied them in class, and then revised them to address any issues. Additionally, effective strategies for task implementation were proposed based on learners' feedback and an analysis of their task performance data. Results To improve conversation success rates, several strategies were proposed: using ChatGPT as the primary tool, employing stalling strategies when producing long utterances, instructing the chatbot and learners on how to address each other, ensuring that instructors provide appropriate feedback and stay informed about the chatbot’s latest updates, strengths, and limitations, entering prompts as text, and having learners initiate conversations. Additionally, follow-up activities such as pair work or presentations after chatbot-based conversation practice were considered effective. Conclusions This study is significant in that it developed speaking tasks utilizing generative AI, enabling learners to take the initiative in practicing speaking outside the classroom, and provided specific strategies for their implementation.
