텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 초등학교 과학 교과서 관련 연구 주제 및 동향 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 국내 학술지에 게재된 초등학교 과학 교과서 관련 연구를 대상으로 텍스트 마이닝을 활용하여 연구 주제 변화 및 동향을 체계적으로 분석하고, 향후 연구 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법 이를 위해 학술연구 정보 서비스(RISS)를 활용하여 2000년부터 2024년까지 출판된 초등학교 과학 교과서 관련 연구 문헌 337편을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 수집한 데이터는 텍스톰과 엑셀을 활용하여 정제작업을 수행하고 키워드 출현 빈도 분석과 네트워크 분석을 통해 주요 키워드를 확인하고 시각화하였다. 또한 CONCOR 분석을 활용하여 유사성을 가진 단어들로 구성된 군집을 도출하였다. 결과 첫째, 논문발행 현황 분석 결과 2000년부터 2019년까지 초등학교 과학 교과서 관련 연구는 꾸준히 증가하다가 최근 5년간 논문 수가 감소하는 양상이 나타났다. 둘째, 주요 키워드로는 ‘삽화’, ‘교과서비교’, ‘검정교과서’, ‘교과서분석’, ‘한국’, ‘제7차교육과정’, ‘2015개정교육과정’, ‘내용분석’, ‘초등학교’, ‘2007개정교육과정’이 나타났다. 셋째, N-gram 분석 결과, ‘제6차교육과정-제7차교육과정’, ‘한국-미국’, ‘3학년-4학년’, ‘5학년-6학년’, ‘탐구활동-과학탐구활동’ 등의 키워드 쌍이 높은 빈도로 나타났다. 넷째, CONCOR 분석을 통해 ‘교과서 비교 및 시각 자료 활용 연구’, ‘교육과정 개정과 교과서분석 연구’, ‘탐구 중심 과학교육 및 교사 역량 연구’, ‘탐구활동 및 교사 인식 연구’를 중심으로 군집이 형성되어 있음을 확인하였다. 결론 연구 결과를 바탕으로 초등학교 과학 교과서 관련 연구의 연구 주제 변화 및 동향을 종합적으로 도출하였고, 이를 바탕으로 향후 연구 방향에 대한 실천적 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to systematically analyze changes and trends in research topics using text mining in elementary school science textbooks published in domestic academic journals and to suggest future research directions. Methods To this end, 337 research papers on elementary school science textbooks published from 2000 to 2024 were selected as analysis subjects using RISS. The collected data were refined using Textom and Excel, and major keywords were identified and visualized through keyword frequency analysis and network analysis. In addition, CONCOR analysis was used to derive clusters composed of similar words. Results As a result of the research, first, the results of the analysis of the status of paper publication showed that the number of papers on elementary school science textbooks steadily increased from 2000 to 2019, but the number of papers has decreased over the past five years. Second, the main keywords were ‘illustration’, ‘textbook comparison’, ‘approved textbook’, ‘textbook analysis’, ‘Korea’, ‘7th curriculum’, ‘2015 revised curriculum’, ‘content analysis’, ‘elementary school’, and ‘2007 revised curriculum’. Third, as a result of N-gram analysis, keyword pairs such as ‘6th curriculum-7th curriculum’, ‘Korea-USA’, ‘3rd grade-4th grade’, ‘5th grade-6th grade’, and ‘exploratory activities-science exploration activities’ appeared with high frequency. Fourth, CONCOR analysis confirmed that clusters were formed centered on ‘textbook comparison and visual material utilization research’, ‘curriculum revision and textbook analysis research’, ‘inquiry-centered science education and teacher competency research’, and ‘inquiry activities and teacher perception research’. Conclusions Based on the research results, the research topics and trends related to elementary school science textbooks were comprehensively derived, and practical implications for future research directions were presented based on this.
