간호학생의 국제보건역량과 국제개발협력의 인식에 대한 혼합연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 간호학생의 국제보건역량 정도와 국제개발협력에 대한 인식 정도를 파악하고, 대상자의 특성에 따른 차이와 인식에 대한 심층적 탐색을 위해 실시된 혼합연구이다. 방법 양적 자료수집은 2024년 4월 1일부터 20일까지 B시 소재 일개 대학에 재학 중인 1~4학년 간호대학생 235명의 구조화된 설문지를 통해 이루어졌으며, 질적 자료수집은 2024년 4월 1일부터 10월 20일까지 4회의 포커스 그룹 면담과 2회의 개별 면담을 통해 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 26.0 Program과 Hsieh와 Shannon(2005)의 질적연구의 전통적 내용분석방법(conventional content analysis)을 활용하여 분석하였다. 결과 대상자의 일반적·경험적 특성에 따른 국제보건핵심역량의 정도는 학년, 개발도상국 관련 교육 참여 경험, 해외 봉사 경험, 국제보건 수업 이수, 국제보건 유사 수업 이수에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 공적개발원조에 대한 인식도는 학년, 대외원조 및 개발협력 참여 경험, 개발도상국 관련 교육 참여 경험, 해외 봉사 경험에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 질적연구 결과, 국제보건과 관련된 참여자들의 인식은 네 가지 핵심주제 ‘국제보건학습’, ‘국제보건역량’, ‘국제보건활동’, ‘국제개발협력’으로 범주화되었다. 결론 본 연구를 통해 간호대학생의 국제보건역량 및 국제개발협력의 인식 수준은 교과 학습 여부와 관련이 있음을 확인하였고, 간호대학생의 국제보건역량을 실질적으로 함양하기 위해 국제보건 역량 도구의 구성에 대한 논의와 체계적 교과과정 구성의 근거를 뒷받침할 수 있는 관련 연구가 추후 수행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This mixed-method research aims to analyse the level of recognition of Global Health Competencies and International Development Cooperation among university nursing students in Korea and lead to a further in-depth study on variable levels of recognition dependent on the characteristics of the research subjects. Methods Research data was collected from 235 nursing students of all grades registered at a university located in City B from April 1 to 20, 2024. All subjects returned a structured survey and were divided into four groups for the focused group interview (4 times) and individual interview (2 times). The study data was analysed using the SPSS 26.0 Program and Hsieh and Shannon's conventional content analysis (2005) for qualitative research. Results The study reveals that various factors affect the results based on the general and empirical characteristics of the study subjects; for Global Health Competencies, these factors are grades, experience in educational programs for underdeveloped countries, overseas volunteer service, taking courses for global health or similar subjects. Similarly, factors such as grades, experience in foreign aid and development programs, educational programs for underdeveloped countries and overseas volunteer service affect the differential recognition of Official Development Assistance. From the qualitative research, the overall recognition of the study subjects on global health was categorized into four categories: 1) global health learning, 2) global health competency, 3) global health activity and 4) international development cooperation. Conclusions With this study, we found a meaningful correlation between the level of recognition of Global Health Competencies and International Development Cooperation among university nursing students and their completion of relevant courses at the university. Therefore, we expect there is a need for further studies focusing on learning practical tools to support global health competencies and establishing structured training courses.
