잠재 프로파일 분석을 통한 대학생활적응 유형에 따른 대학 교육서비스 만족도와 중도탈락 의도 차이: 수도권 소규모 대학을 중심으로

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 수도권 소규모 대학생들의 학생 특성 및 교수와의 관계, 학업여건 안정성에 의해 대학생활적응 유형을 분류한 뒤, 집단별 특성에 대해 파악하고 집단 유형에 따른 대학 교육서비스 만족도와 중도탈락 의도 차이를 알아보고자 했다. 방법 이를 위하여 수도권 소규모 대학 재학생 526명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여, 그들의 심리·사회적 특성에 대한 잠재 프로파일 분석(latent profile analysis)을 시행하였으며, 추출된 잠재계층에 따라 대학 교육서비스 만족도에서 차이를 알아보기 위하여 일원분산분석(one-way ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 중도탈락 의도에서 집단 간 차이가 유의한지를 검증하기 위해 Pearson 카이제곱 검증 및 Fisher’s exact test를 실시하였다. 결과 분석 결과 대학생활적응 요인에 따른 6개의 잠재 프로파일이 도출되었고, 형태에 따라 ‘심각한 부적응’, ‘사회·진로특성 취약’, ‘내적 혼란형’, ‘미약한 적응’, ‘일·학습 병행’, ‘완벽한 적응’ 집단이라 명명하였다. 잠재 프로파일별 요인을 살펴본 결과, 대학 교육서비스 만족도, 중도탈락 의도에서 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 결론 이러한 결과를 기반으로 본 연구는 대학생활적응 유형에 따른 대학 교육서비스 만족도, 중도탈락 의도 여부의 차이를 파악함으로써, 수도권 소규모 대학교의 중도탈락을 예방할 수 있는 개입 방안을 논의하고 후속연구를 위해 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study classified college life adaptation types based on student characteristics, relationships with professors, and stability in academic conditions of small university students in the metropolitan area, and then tried to understand the characteristics of each group and to find out the difference in university education service satisfaction and dropout intention according to group type. Methods To this end, data were collected from 526 students from small universities in the metropolitan area, and potential profile analysis of their psychosocial characteristics was conducted. A one-way ANOVA of variance was conducted to find out the difference in university education service satisfaction according to the extracted latent class. Pearson chi-square test and Fisher's exact test were conducted to verify whether the difference between groups was significant in dropout intention. Results As a result of the analysis, six potential profiles were derived according to college life adaptation factors, and depending on the type, they were named as “serious maladjustment,” “vulnerable social and career characteristics,” “internal confusion,” “weak adaptation,” “work-learning parallel,” and “perfect adaptation.” As a result of examining the factors for each potential profile, there were significant differences between groups in university education service satisfaction and dropout intention. Conclusions Based on these results, this study discussed intervention measures to prevent dropouts of small universities in the metropolitan area and suggested follow-up studies by identifying differences in university education service satisfaction and dropout intention according to college life adaptation types.
