대학 교양교육 연구의 발전 경향 분석: 재정지원사업 이후 연구 키워드 네트워크를 중심으로

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 대학 재정지원사업에서 본격적으로 교육과정에 대한 변화가 요구된 2010년 ACE 사업 이후부터 현재까지 대학 교양교육 관련 연구의 동향을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 향후 교양교육의 방향을 제언하고자 하였다. 방법 2010년부터 2025년 2월까지 발표된 대학 교양교육 관련 논문 총 403편을 NetMiner 4.1을 사용하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 연도별 논문 수를 파악하였으며 둘째, 수집된 논문정보 키워드들을 사용하여 일원모드(1-Mode)로 변환하여 키워드들 간의 유기적인 관계를 확인하였으며 워드 클라우드(Word Cloud)를 사용하여 시각화를 진행하였다. 셋째, 추출한 키워드들에 대한 연결중심성, 매개중심성, 근접중심성을 파악하였으며 각 네트워크 분석 후 Spring map, Circular map을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서 수집된 데이터들의 응집성을 파악하기 위해 커뮤니티(Community) 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, ‘2010년 ACE 사업 이후 교양교육 연구는 지속적으로 증가하는 추세를 보였으며, 특히 대학혁신지원사업이 시행된 이후 교양교육 혁신을 다룬 연구가 더욱 활발히 이루어졌다. 둘째, 대학 교양교육 관련 키워드 분석 결과, ‘역량’이 가장 높은 빈도로 나타났으며, ‘융복합’, ‘만족’, ‘인식’, ‘인문학’, ‘글쓰기’, ‘문화’ 등의 키워드 또한 높은 빈도를 보였고, 키워드 연관성 분석에서는 ‘소통-역량’, ‘글로벌-시민성’, ‘문화-역량’ 등의 조합이 높은 출현 빈도를 보였다. 셋째, 네트워크 응집성 분석 결과, 키워드들은 ‘디지털 교육과 융합적 사고’, ‘경험 기반 학습과 효과성 분석’, ‘정서적·사회적 역량과 예술 기반 교육’, ‘글로벌 역량 및 학습자 중심 교육’의 네 개 그룹으로 구분되어 대학 교양교육이 점차 세분화되고 전문화되고 있음을 보여주었다. 결론 2010년 ACE 사업 이후 교양교육 연구는 지속적으로 증가하는 추세를 보였으며, 특히 대학혁신지원사업이 시행된 이후 교양교육 혁신을 다룬 연구가 더욱 활발히 이루어졌다. 키워드 분석 결과, 교양교육 연구는 역량 중심 교육, 융복합 학습, 글로벌 역량, 정서적·사회적 역량 강화 등 다양한 주제를 포함하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 대학 교육과정 변화가 교육부의 재정지원사업과 긴밀하게 연계되어 있으며, 교양교육이 전공 교육을 보완하는 동시에 변화하는 사회적 요구에 부응하는 핵심 요소로 인식되고 있음을 시사한다. 향후 전공 교육과정과의 연관성을 고려한 연구가 필요하며, 지속적인 논의를 통해 대학 교육이 현대 사회에 적합한 방향으로 발전할 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study attempted to analyze the trends of research related to university liberal arts education from the 2010 ACE project to the present, when the university financial support project required a full-scale change in the curriculum, and to suggest future directions for liberal arts education based on this. Methods A total of 403 papers on university liberal arts education published from 2010 to February 2025 were analyzed using NetMiner 4.1. First, the number of papers by year was identified, and second, the organic relationship between the keywords was confirmed by converting them to one-mode using the collected thesis information keywords, and visualization was conducted using Word Cloud. Third, the connection centrality, mediation centrality, and proximity centrality of the extracted keywords were identified, and after each network analysis, a spring map and a circular map were presented. Finally, a community analysis was conducted to understand the cohesion of the data collected in this study. Results First, the research on liberal arts education has continued to increase since the ACE project in 2010, and in particular, research on liberal arts education innovation has been conducted more actively since the university innovation support project was implemented. Second, as a result of analyzing keywords related to university liberal arts education, 'competence' was found to have the highest frequency, keywords such as 'convergence', 'satisfaction', 'recognition', 'humanities', 'writing', and 'culture' also showed high frequency of occurrence in keyword correlation analysis. Third, as a result of the network cohesion analysis, the keywords were divided into four groups: 'digital education and convergence thinking', 'experience-based learning and effectiveness analysis', 'emotional and social competency and art-based education', and 'global competency and learner-centered education', showing that university liberal arts education is gradually being subdivided and specialized. Conclusions Since the ACE project in 2010, liberal arts education research has continued to increase, and in particular, research on liberal arts education innovation has been conducted more actively since the university innovation support project was implemented. As a result of keyword analysis, it was confirmed that liberal arts education research includes a variety of topics such as competency-based education, convergence learning, global competency, and emotional and social competency enhancement. This suggests that changes in the university curriculum are closely linked to the financial support project of the Ministry of Education, and that liberal arts education is recognized as a key factor in responding to changing social needs while supplementing major education. In the future, research is needed considering the relationship with the major curriculum, and it is expected that university education can develop in a direction suitable for modern society through continuous discussion.
