평생교육의 관점에서 본 성인 독서 모임에서 이루어지는 국어교육

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 평생교육의 관점에서 보았을 때 성인 독서 모임에서 이루어지는 국어교육이 어떠한가를 탐구하는 것으로, 성인 독서 모임에서 어떤 국어교육이 이루어지고 있는지, 국어교육의 의미는 무엇인지, 성인 학습자는 어떤 교육적 지원을 필요로 하는지를 살펴보았다. 방법 반구조화된 면담을 중심으로 진행된 사례 연구로서 연구 참여자는 공공 도서관의 독서 모임 참여자와 운영자, 사설 독서 모임의 참여자와 운영자 4인이다. 자료의 분석은 면담 내용 전사 자료를 바탕으로 성인 대상 독서 모임의 국어교육 양상과 의미, 교육에 대한 지원 요구가 무엇인지를 분석하였다. 결과 성인 독서 모임의 참여자들은 즐거움과 재미를 느끼며 자발적으로 참여하는 양상을 보였으며, 독서 모임이 성공적으로 운영되기 위해서는 조력자의 적극적인 지원이 중요한 역할을 하고 있었다. 또한 독서 모임의 상호작용은 책에 대한 이해를 심화시키는 역할을 하였다. 성인 학습자의 독서 모임이 지속되기 위해서 자발적 학습을 위한 맞춤형 교육, 모임 구성을 위한 기회와 공간에 대한 지원을 필요로 하였다. 결론 평생교육으로서 성인 독서 모임이 활성화되기 위해서는 성인 대상 국어교육과 관련된 기초 연구 수행과 연구 성과를 현실화하기 위한 정책적 지원이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore how Korean language education takes place in adult from the perspective of lifelong education. Specifically, the study investigates the nature and meaning of Korean language education in adult reading groups and the educational support needs of adult learners. Methods This research adopts a case study approach based on semi-structured interviews. The participants consist of four individuals: participants and facilitators from both public library reading groups and private reading groups. Data analysis was conducted using transcribed interview materials, focusing on the characteristics of Korean language education in adult reading groups and the learners' needs for educational support. Results The study found that adult participants in reading groups engage voluntarily, motivated by enjoyment and interest. The success of these reading groups is closely linked to the active support provided by facilitators. Furthermore, interactions within the reading groups contribute to deeper comprehension of the texts. For the sustainability of adult reading groups, tailored education that fosters self-directed learning, as well as support in terms of space and opportunities for group formation, are required. Conclusions To promote adult reading groups as a form of lifelong education, foundational research on Korean language education for adults must be strengthened, and the findings should be translated into concrete policy support.
