고교학점제에 대한 화학 교사의 인식 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 2025년에 전면 도입하는 고교학점제에 대해 화학 교사의 인식을 고교학점제에 대한 전반적인 인식과 화학 진로선택과목과 관련한 인식으로 나누어 알아보았다. 방법 이를 위해 본 연구는 설명적 순차 설계로 연구를 진행하였다. 양적 자료 수집을 위해 23명의 화학 교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 5명의 화학 교사를 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하여 양적 자료를 해석하고자 하였다. 수집된 설문 응답은 학교급, 교육 경력별로 각각의 설문 문항에 대해 평균과 표준편차를 구하고, 변인별 차이를 검정하고자 Kruskal-Wallis H 검정을 사용하여 분석하였다. 기대 효과와 관련된 인식은 반복측정 ANOVA로 분석하여 기대 효과 항목 간 차이를 분석하였다. 결과 전반적인 인식에서 ‘고교학점제에 대한 이해’의 경우 고등학교 교사의 인식이 중학교 교사보다 통계적으로 유의미하게 높았으며(p<.05), 교육 경력별 인식에서는 차이가 없었다(p>.05). ‘고교학점제 정책에 대한 공감’은 학교급, 교육 경력 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다(p>.05). 고교학점제 시행에 대한 기대 효과로 ‘학습 동기 촉진’과 ‘학생 역량 강화’를 가장 큰 효과로 인식하였다. 화학 진로선택과목의 진로 교육 반영에 대한 인식에서 학교급, 교육 경력 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다(p>.05). 화학 진로선택과목에 대한 기대 효과로 ‘화학분야 진로와의 연계성’, ‘대학 학과 선택과의 연계성’을 가장 큰 효과로 인식하였다. 결론 고교학점제에 대한 전반적인 인식이 아직 높지 않기 때문에 보다 높일 필요가 있으며, 이를 위해 정책 공감에 대한 인식을 높일 필요가 있다. 더불어, 진로선택과목이 진로교육과 연계성 있게 운영되는 데 아직 한계가 있음을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to investigate chemistry teachers' perceptions of the high school credit system, which will be introduced in 2025. The perceptions were analyzed in two aspects: overall understanding of the high school credit system and perceptions related to chemistry career elective courses. Methods To achieve this, the study employed an explanatory sequential design. Quantitative data were collected through a survey of 23 chemistry teachers, followed by in-depth interviews with 5 chemistry teachers to interpret the quantitative data. The survey responses were analyzed by calculating the mean and standard deviation for each survey item based on school level and teaching experience. The Kruskal-Wallis H test was used to examine differences between variables. Perceptions related to expected effects were analyzed using repeated-measures ANOVA to determine differences among the expectation categories. Results Regarding overall perceptions, high school teachers had a statistically significantly higher understanding of the high school credit system than middle school teachers (p<.05), whereas there was no significant difference based on teaching experience (p>.05). In terms of “policy empathy for the high school credit system,” no statistically significant differences were found based on school level or teaching experience (p>.05). Regarding the expected effects of implementing the high school credit system, “promotion of learning motivation” and “enhancement of student competencies” were perceived as the most significant benefits. Regarding the perception of chemistry career elective courses in relation to career education, no statistically significant differences were found based on school level or teaching experience (p>.05). The expected effects of implementing chemistry career elective courses were primarily recognized as “relevance to chemistry-related careers” and “provision of career information in the chemistry field.” Conclusions The overall awareness of the high school credit system is still not very high, so it needs to be further increased. To achieve this, it is necessary to enhance awareness of policy consensus. Additionally, it has been confirmed that there are still limitations in linking career elective subjects with career education.
