영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 결혼만족도가 양육행동에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감과 양육스트레스의 이중매개효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 결혼만족도가 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육행동에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 이 관계에서 자아존중감과 양육스트레스의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 방법 연구대상은 한국 영유아 교육·보육 패널 1차 년도 자료를 활용하여 3∼12개월 이하의 영아 자녀를 둔 어머니 2,711명을 포함하였다. 분석은 SPSS 27.0과 Amos 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도 분석, 기술 통계 분석, 상관관계 분석을 실시하였으며, 구조 방정식 모형 분석과 부트스트래핑 방법을 적용하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 결과 첫째, 결혼만족도는 어머니의 자아존중감 및 양육행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 양육스트레스에는 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자아존중감은 양육행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 양육스트레스와는 부정적인 상관관계를 보였다. 셋째, 결혼만족도와 양육행동 간의 관계에서 자아존중감과 양육스트레스가 각각 부분적으로 매개하며, 순차적으로도 부분매개함이 확인되었다. 결론 결혼만족도가 높을수록 어머니의 자아존중감이 증가하고 양육스트레스는 감소하여, 긍정적인 양육행동으로 이어진다는 사실이 확인되었다. 이 연구는 어머니의 결혼만족도를 향상시키기 위한 지원과 더불어 자아존중감을 증진시키는 프로그램의 필요성을 강조하며, 아동의 건강한 발달과 가정의 전반적인 복지를 위한 정책적 시사점을 제시한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of marriage satisfaction on parenting behavior of mothers with infants and to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem and parenting stress in this relationship. Methods The subjects of the study included 2,711 mothers with infants under 3-12 months of age using data from the first year of the Korean Infant Education and Childcare Panel. For analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, and correlation analysis were performed using SPSS 27.0 and Amos 23.0 programs, and the mediating effect was verified by applying structural equation model analysis and bootstrapping method. Results First, marriage satisfaction was found to have a positive effect on mother's self-esteem and parenting behavior, and a negative effect on parenting stress. Second, self-esteem had a positive effect on parenting behavior and showed a negative correlation with parenting stress. Third, it was confirmed that in the relationship between marriage satisfaction and parenting behavior, self-esteem and parenting stress were partially mediated by each, and sequentially. Conclusions It was confirmed that the higher the marriage satisfaction, the higher the mother's self-esteem and parenting stress, leading to positive parenting behavior. This study emphasizes the need for a program to promote self-esteem as well as support to improve mother's marriage satisfaction, and presents policy implications for the healthy development of children and the overall welfare of the family.
