디지털 네이티브 세대 예비 초등교사의 교직생활에 관한 질문 특성 분석

국문 초록

목적 현재의 예비 초등교사들은 태어날 때부터 인터넷을 비롯한 다양한 디지털 미디어로 둘러싸인 체 성장해온 디지털 네이티브(Digital Natives)세대에 해당한다. 본 연구는 예비 초등교사들의 세대적 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 교사교육 및 지원 체계를 구축하는 데 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하고, 궁극적으로 변화하는 디지털 시대에 적합한 교사양성 및 지원 방안을 모색하는데 기여하고자 한다. 방법 디지털 네이티브 세대에 포함되는 예비 교사 63명을 대상으로 개방형 설문조사 방법에 의해 교직생활 전반에 관련된 질문으로 수집하였다. 수집된 데이터는 질적 내용 분석방법을 사용하였으며 질문 내용 데이터를 전사-분류-정리-편집의 단계를 거쳐 주제, 내용, 관심사별로 공통적인 요소에 따라 분류하고 선행연구 자료를 바탕으로 예비 초등교사들의 세대적 특성을 종합하였다. 결과 예비 초등교사들의 교직생활 관련 질문은 교사와 학생 및 학부모 관계, 생활지도 및 훈육, 교사복지, 교직 행정업무, 심리소진, 기타 등의 6가지로 분류되었으며, 분류된 내용들은 개인화, 자율성, 감성추구, 디지털화’라는 일반적으로 제시되고 있는 디지털 네이티브 세대적 특성을 확인하였다. 질문 내용들 분석을 통하여 디지털 네이티브 세대의 특성이 초등교사들의 교직생활에 관한 질문에도 반영되어 있음을 확인하였다. 결론 디지털 시대에 필요한 교사 지원방안을 모색하는 데 있어, 예비 초등교사들의 세대적 특성에 대한 이해와 교직사회 개선 및 반영이 필요한 점들을 확인하였다. 디지털 시대 변화와 교육 정책 변화에 따라 예비 초등교사에게 디지털 기술 활용 능력을 갖출 것을 강조할 뿐만 아니라 교육주체 간 인간관계 및 감정 관리 능력 향상과 초등학생들과의 인간적인 소통 및 의사소통 방식의 변화에도 초점을 맞추어야 할 것이다. 예비 초등교사들을 위한 개인화된 학습 경험과 자율성을 존중하는 교육방식이 필요하며, 나아가 변화된 교육현장에서 교사들의 전반적인 실제 교직 수행능력 과정을 장기적으로 관찰하고 그들의 세대적 특성과 추구하는 교육방식이 학생들에게 미치는 영향을 분석할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives Current prospective elementary school teachers are part of the Digital Natives generation, who have grown up surrounded by various digital media including the Internet since birth. This study aims to provide basic data necessary to build a customized teacher education and support system that reflects the generational characteristics of prospective elementary school teachers, and ultimately to contribute to finding teacher training and support methods suitable for the changing digital age. Methods Sixty-three prospective teachers belonging to the digital native generation were collected through an open-ended survey method with questions related to their overall teaching careers. The collected data used a qualitative content analysis method, and the question content data was classified by common elements by topic, content, and interest through the stages of transcription, classification, organization, and editing, and the generational characteristics of prospective elementary school teachers were synthesized based on prior research data. Results The questions on prospective elementary school teachers’ teaching careers were classified into six categories: teacher-student and parent relationships, life guidance and discipline, teacher welfare, teacher administrative work, psychological burnout, and others. The classified contents confirmed the generally presented characteristics of the digital native generation, such as ‘individualization, autonomy, emotional pursuit, and digitalization.’ Through the analysis of the question contents, it was confirmed that the characteristics of the digital native generation were also reflected in the questions on elementary school teachers’ teaching careers. Conclusions IIn seeking teacher support measures necessary for the digital age, we identified the generational characteristics of prospective elementary school teachers and the areas that require improvement and reflection in the teaching profession. In accordance with the changes in the digital age and educational policy, we should emphasize that prospective elementary school teachers should have the ability to utilize digital technology, but we should also focus on improving interpersonal relationships and emotional management skills between educational entities and on changes in human communication and communication methods with elementary school students. We need personalized learning experiences and educational methods that respect autonomy for prospective elementary school teachers, and furthermore, we need to observe the overall actual teaching performance process of teachers in the changed educational field in the long term and analyze the impact of their generational characteristics and the educational methods they pursue on students.
