전국 대학 학과 특성의 잠재계층분석과 경북 지역 학과 취업률 비교

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 전국 대학 학과를 잠재계층분석(LCA) 기법으로 유형화하고, 경북 지역 학과의 취업률 격차와 원인을 분석하여 지방대학 지원정책 수립에 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 방법 이를 위하여 2023학년도 졸업자를 대상으로 한 교육부 대학알리미 및 공시자료(전국 14,443개 학과)를 수집·정제하였고 범주형 변수를 잠재계층분석에 투입하였다. 모델 적합도 지표(AIC, BIC 등)를 비교하여 최적 계층 수를 결정한 뒤, 도출된 각 계층에 속한 학과의 규모와 지역 분포를 분석하여 경북 지역 학과의 특수성을 파악하였다. . 또한, 계층 간 취업률 차이를 검증하기 위하여 분산분석(ANOVA) 및 사후검증을 실시하였고, 이를 통해 경북 지역 학과의 취업 성과가 타 지역 대비 어느 수준인지를 구체적으로 확인하였다. 결과 전국 대학 학과는 5개 잠재집단으로 분류되었으며, 경북 지역 학과는 국립 대학교 중심 계층(Class 5)에 가장 높은 비중으로 속했다. Class 1(사립 대학교·전문대 주간 학과)과 Class 3(사이버대학 원격 학과)은 높은 취업률을 보였으나, Class 4(전문대학·심화·야간 학과)와 Class 5(국립 대학교·주간 학과)는 낮은 취업률과 큰 변동성을 보였다. 특히 경북 지역의 Class 5 취업률은 전국 평균보다 낮았으며, 이는 지역 산업 구조와 취업 기회 부족에 기인한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 지방대학의 학과 특성과 지역 산업 구조가 취업 성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 경북 지역 대학의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 맞춤형 취업지원 정책, 지역 산업 연계 강화, 그리고 산학협력 기반의 교육과정 개발이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study classifies university departments nationwide using Latent Class Analysis (LCA) and examines employment rate disparities in Gyeongbuk Province to inform policies for local universities. Methods For this objectives, we collected and refined data from the 2023 academic year graduates listed in the Ministry of Education’s “University Information” disclosures (covering 14,443 departments nationwide) and employed the categorical variables for Latent Class Analysis (LCA). After comparing model fit indices (AIC, BIC, etc.) to determine the optimal number of classes, we analyzed the size and regional distribution of departments within each class to identify the unique characteristics of those located in Gyeongbuk Province. In addition, an ANOVA and post-hoc tests were performed to examine differences in employment rates across the classes, thereby offering a detailed view of how the employment outcomes of Gyeongbuk-based departments compare with those in other regions. Results Five latent groups were identified, with Gyeongbuk departments concentrated in Class 5 (national universities). Employment rates were higher in Class 1 (private universities and vocational colleges) and Class 3 (cyber universities) but lower in Class 4 (vocational colleges offering evening courses) and Class 5. Conclusions The findings highlight the need for customized employment policies, stronger local industry collaboration, and industry-academia linked curricula to improve Gyeongbuk universities' competitiveness.
