역사교육 방법의 전환에 관한 시론: 글쓰기에서 함께 말하기(inter-play)로

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 글쓰기 중심의 역사교육 방법에 관한 전환의 필요성을 제기하고, 이에 필요한 학습 전략과 역량 강화 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 연구 주제와 관련한 문헌 조사를 통해 텍스트 이론의 원류와 근거를 추적하고, 기존의 주장과 문헌에 대한 비판적 해석 연구를 통해 글쓰기와 함께 말하기 활동의 맥락적 의미를 분석하였다. 결과 이를 통해 역사 글쓰기 활동의 의의와 문제점을 도출하고, 역사 이해의 의미를 상대주의와 해석학적 관점에서 정의하였으며, 함께 말하기 활동의 교육적 의미를 제시하였다. 결론 역사교육 방법으로서 글쓰기는 역사 이해의 가능성과 다양성을 넓히는 활동으로 간주되지만, 자기 이해와 주장을 표현하는 것에 그칠 가능성이 있으므로 유연한 방식의 교류와 소통을 증진하는 활동이 이어져야 함을 논하였다. 진정한 역사 이해는 사회문화적 맥락에 따라 자기 이해를 증진해 가는 과정에 있으며 이를 통해 협력적 소통과 공동체 역량을 신장할 수 있다. 함께 말하기 활동을 구체화하여 함께 이해하는 학습 과정을 활성화하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to raise the need for a shift in writing-centred methods of teaching history, and to explore the learning strategies and capacity-building activities needed to achieve this. Methods In order to establish a solid foundation for the research, a comprehensive literature survey was conducted to trace the origins and rationale of textual theory. Furthermore, the contextual meaning of speaking activities alongside writing was analysed through a critical interpretation of existing arguments and literature. Results The present study has sought to shed light on the significance and challenges posed by historical writing activities. It has done this by defining the concept of understanding history through the lenses of relativism and hermeneutics. Furthermore, it has presented the educational implications of inter-play discourse. Conclusions It was argued that writing as a method of history education is considered to broaden the possibilities and diversity of historical understanding, but it can be limited to expressing self-understanding and assertion, and should be followed by activities that promote flexible ways of exchange and communication. Understanding desirable history is a process of developing self-understanding in a socio-cultural context, which can lead to collaborative communication and community empowerment. We aim to activate the learning process of understanding together by materializing inter-play activities.
