국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 초등학교 교실 모습과 초등교사의 수업 실행 양상을 학년별로 비교·분석하여, 각 학년에서 나타나는 교육적 차이를 규명하는 데 있다. 이를 통해 초등교사들이 학생들의 발달 단계에 맞는 교육적 접근을 어떻게 실천하고 있는지를 심층적으로 이해하고자 한다. 방법 본 연구는 질적 연구 방법을 사용하여 저학년(1학년), 중학년(3학년), 고학년(6학년) 담임교사 세 명을 대상으로 심층 면담과 수업 관찰을 실시하였다. 연구 자료는 코딩 및 주제 분석을 통해 도출되었으며, 각 학년별로 교사의 교육 신념과 수업 실행 전략의 차이를 비교·분석하였다. 결과 저학년 교사는 학생들의 학교 적응과 기초 학습 습관 형성에 중점을 두고 있으며, 중학년 교사는 자율성과 협동 학습을 통해 학생들의 학습 동기를 강화하고 있었다. 고학년 교사는 규율과 책임감을 강조하여 학생들이 중학교 진학을 준비할 수 있도록 돕고 있었다. 교실 수업 상황과 각 교사의 교육 신념이 수업 실행에 영향을 미치고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 결론 초등교사들은 교실 수업 상황과 학생들의 발달 단계에 맞추어 학년별로 다양한 접근과 수업 방식을 적용함으로써 학생들의 학습과 학교생활을 효과적으로 지원하고 있었다. 본 연구는 초등교사들이 각 학년의 발달 특성에 따라 수업 전략을 어떻게 조정하는지를 구체적인 사례를 통해 제시하였으며, 이를 통해 초등학생들에게 발달 단계에 적합한 학습 경험을 제공하는 데 중요한 시사점을 도출할 수 있다. 또한, 교실 수업 상황과 교사의 교육 신념에 따른 수업 방식의 차이를 이해하는 데 유용한 정보를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the classroom environments and teaching practices of elementary school teachers across different grade levels, with the aim of identifying educational differences that arise at each grade level. Through this analysis, the study seeks to deepen the understanding of how elementary school teachers implement educational approaches that are tailored to the developmental stages of their students. Methods This study employed qualitative research methods, conducting in-depth interviews and classroom observations with three homeroom teachers responsible for first, third, and sixth grades. The collected data were analyzed through coding and thematic analysis, and the differences in teachers’ educational beliefs and teaching strategies across grade levels were compared and analyzed. Results The results indicated that first-grade teachers focused on students’ adaptation to school and the formation of basic learning habits. Third-grade teachers emphasized autonomy and cooperative learning to enhance students' motivation to learn, while sixth-grade teachers highlighted discipline and responsibility to help students prepare for middle school. The study revealed that classroom environments and teachers’ educational beliefs significantly influenced teaching practices. Conclusions Elementary school teachers effectively supported students' learning and school life by applying various approaches and teaching methods tailored to the classroom environment and developmental stages of students at different grade levels. This study provides concrete examples of how teachers adjust their teaching strategies according to the developmental characteristics of each grade level, offering significant implications for providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences for elementary students. Additionally, it is expected to provide valuable insights into understanding the differences in teaching practices based on classroom environments and teachers' educational beliefs.
