유아 그림책의 글과 그림에 나타난 치매 할아버지의 특성 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 유아 그림책에 나타난 치매 할아버지의 특성을 분석하였다. 방법 치매를 앓고 있는 할아버지가 등장하는 그림책 16권을 대상으로 글과 그림에서 치매 할아버지의 특성이 잘 표현된 총 6권의그림책을 최종분석대상으로 선정하였다. 그림책에 나타난 등장인물의 외형적 묘사뿐 아니라 등장인물이 경험하는 문학적, 미술적요소까지 전반적인 내용을 모두 분석하였다. 결과 첫째, 치매 할아버지의 낯선 모습 마주하기에서 손자녀는 할아버지의 치매 특성을 마주하며 낯설게 느낀다. 둘째, 은유, 상징으로 치매 할아버지 이해하기에서 손자녀는 할아버지의 달라진 모습에 겪게 되는 어려움 속에서 할아버지와 함께했던 추억을 다양한방법으로 찾아가며 할아버지의 치매 특성을 이해하고 받아들이는 데 도움을 주는 은유와 구체적 상징물을 통해 할아버지의 모습을이해하기 시작한다. 셋째 치매 할아버지와 추억 공유하며 함께하기에서는 할아버지를 있는 그대로 이해하고 받아들이는 과정에서추억을 회상하며 언제까지나 함께 하고 싶은 마음이 표현되고 있다. 결론 본 연구는 유아 그림책에 나타난 치매 할아버지의 치매 특성을 분석하고 이해함으로써 치매 노인을 둔 가정과 유아교육기관뿐아니라 그림책을 쓰려는 작가들에게 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study analyzed the characteristics of grandfathers with dementia in children's picture books. Methods A total of 6 picture books in which the characteristics of the grandfather with dementia are well ex pressed in writing and drawing were selected as the final analysis targets for 16 picture books in which the grand father with dementia appears. Not only the external description of the characters in the picture books, but also the literary and artistic elements experienced by the characters were analyzed. Results First, in facing the unfamiliar face of a dementia grandfather, the grandchildren feel unfamiliar as they en counter the characteristics of their grandfather's dementia. Second, in understanding grandfather with dementia through metaphors and symbols, grandchildren begin to understand their grandfather's appearance through met aphors and concrete symbols that help them understand and accept their grandfather's dementia characteristics by recalling memories with their grandfather in order to understand the symptoms of their grandfather's dementia. Third, in sharing memories with grandfather with dementia, the desire to be with grandfather is expressed by un derstanding and accepting grandfather as he is, reminiscing about memories, and wanting to be with him forever. Conclusions The significance of this study is that by analyzing and understanding the characteristics of dementia grandfathers in children’s picturebooks, it provides basic data not only for families with elderly people with de mentia and early childhood education institutions, but also for writers who want to write picturebooks.
