성장혼합모형을 활용한 대학소속감 잠재계층분류 및 영향요인 탐색

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 한국교육고용패널Ⅱ 3~6차년도 데이터를 활용하여 우리나라 4년제 대학에 속한 학생들의 대학소속감 변화에 따른잠재계층을 확인하고 잠재계층 분류에 영향을 미치는 학생 개인 특성, 대학 초기 경험, 대학 기관 특성을 분석하였다. 방법 대학소속감 변화과정을 포함하는 종단자료 분석을 위해 성장혼합모형을 적용하였다. 성장혼합모형은 학생의 변화 궤적에 따른 잠재계층별 모수를 추정할 수 있다는 점에서 종단자료 분석에 적합하다. 또한 잠재계층 분류에 영향을 미치는 변인을 확인하기위해 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과 분석결과 우리나라 4년제 대학생의 대학소속감의 변화 양상은 모두 고수준 감소형과 저수준 상승형으로 구분되었다. 둘째, 잠재계층 분류에 영향을 미치는 학생 개인 특성을 분석한 결과 대학소속감에 자기이해도가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학경험 중에는 입학 초기 대학시설 만족도와 교육과정 인식이 대학소속감에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 대학 기관 수준의 특성인 설립유형과 소재지는 대학소속감에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 확인되었다. 결론 대학소속감에 따른 잠재계층 분류에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 요인을 향후 우리나라 대학생의 소속감 증진을 위한 다각적인지원정책 및 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study were to identify latent classes of students at four-year universities in South Korea based on changes in their sense of belonging to their universities and colleges utilizing data from the Korean Education and Employment Panel II (3rd-6th waves). Methods To analyze the longitudinal data capturing changes in students’ sense of university belonging, a Growth Mixture Model (GMM) was employed. The GMM is well-suited for longitudinal data analysis as it enables the esti mation of class-specific parameters based on individuals’ developmental trajectories. Furthermore, logistic re gression analysis was conducted to identify predictors that influence latent class membership. Results The analysis revealed two distinct patterns: a high-belonging decreasing group and a low-belonging in creasing group. Self-understanding was the only significant factor in university belongingness among student characteristics. Initial satisfaction with university facilities and curriculum recognition positively impacted on uni versity belongingness. Also, institutional factors like establishment type and location affected university belongingness. Conclusions Factors that significantly influenced latent class membership based on students’ sense of university belonging were discussed in relation to the development of multifaceted support policies and strategies to en hance belonging among university students in Korea.
