초·중학교 전환기 학생의 심리적 특성 잠재집단 탐색 및 영향 요인 검증: 학교적응, 삶의 만족도 차이를 중심으로

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 초·중학교 전환기 청소년의 자아존중감, 그릿, 학업스트레스에 기초한 초 6 시점의 잠재집단을 확인하고, 잠재집단 구분에 부모, 또래, 학교 변인이 영향을 미치는지 확인하였다. 그리고 확인된 잠재집단에 따라 중 1 시점의 학교적응, 삶의만족도에 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 방법 한국아동패널 13차(2020년)와 14차(2021년) 자료의 1,131명을 대상으로 잠재프로파일분석을 하였다. 잠재집단 분류에대한 모 스마트폰 중독, 부 스마트폰 중독, 모 양육스트레스, 부 양육스트레스, 가정 기반 부모 참여도, 학교 기반 부모 참여도, 또래애착, 학교환경의 영향력 검증을 위해 R3STEP 보조변수를 사용하였으며, 잠재집단에 따른 중 1 시점의 학교적응, 삶의 만족도 차이검증을 위해 BCH 보조변수를 활용하였다. 결과 첫째, 초·중학교 전환기 청소년의 자아존중감, 그릿, 학업스트레스에 기초한 잠재집단은 ‘중간 심리적 적응(50.0%)’, ‘높은심리적 적응(43.0%)’, ‘낮은 심리적 적응(7.0%)’의 3개로 확인되었다. 둘째, 또래애착, 학교환경 수준이 높을수록 잠재집단 1(중간심리적 적응)보다는 잠재집단 2(높은 심리적 적응), 가정 기반 참여도, 학교 기반 참여도, 또래애착 수준이 낮을수록 집단 1(중간 심리적적응)보다는 집단 3(낮은 심리적 적응)에 속할 확률이 높았다. 그리고 가정 기반 참여도, 학교 기반 참여도, 또래애착, 학교환경 수준이낮을수록 잠재집단 2(높은 심리적 적응)보다는 잠재집단 3(낮은 심리적 적응)에 속할 확률이 높았다. 셋째, 잠재집단 2(높은 심리적적응), 잠재집단 1(중간 심리적 적응), 잠재집단 3(낮은 심리적 적응) 순으로 학교적응, 삶의 만족도가 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 결론 본 연구는 초·중학교 전환기 학생의 학교적응과 삶의 만족도를 높이는 데 있어 자아존중감, 그릿, 학업스트레스가 중요한역할을 하며, 그리고 심리적 적응 수준을 높이기 위해 부모, 또래, 학교 변인을 모두 고려할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to identify the potential groups of 6th graders based on self-esteem, grit, and academic stress, which are psychological characteristics that are expected to be closely related to school adjustment and life satisfaction of adolescents in the transition period from elementary to middle school. The study also examined whether parents, peers, and school related variables influenced the classification of these potential groups. In addition, the study explored whether there were significant differences in school adjustment and life satisfaction according to the potential groups during the 1st grade of middle school. Methods The 13th (2020) and 14th (2021) waves of longitudinal data, which were obtained from the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC), were analyzed using latent profile analysis. Results First, the latent profile analysis identified three distinct profiles: the middle-level psychological adaptation group, the high-level psychological adaptation group, and the low-level psychological adaptation group. Second, students were more likely to belong in the high-level psychological adaptation group with the higher the level of peer attachment and school environment than the middle-level psychological adaptation group. In contrast, stu dents were more likely to belong in the low-level psychological adaptation group with the lower level of fam ily-based participation, school-based participation, and peer attachment than the middle-level psychological adaptation group. Additionally. students were more likely to belong in the low-level psychological adaptation group with the lower the level of family-based participation, school-based participation, peer attachment, and school environment than the high-level psychological adaptation group. Third, students in the high-level psychological adaptation group showed the highest school adaptation and life satisfaction while the low-level psychological adaptation group reported the lowest score. Conclusions This study revealed the importance of self-esteem, grit, and academic stress on improving school adjustment and life satisfaction of students in the transition period from the elementary school to the middle school.
