지속가능한 식생활교육 관점에서 2022 실과(기술⋅가정) 교육과정 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 지속가능한 식생활교육 내용 체계를 준거로 2022 개정 실과(기술⋅가정) 교육과정을 분석하여 지속가능한 식생활교육의 핵심 가치인 환경, 건강, 배려가 초⋅중⋅고 학교급별로 교육과정에 어떤 양상으로 포함되어 있는지 그 비율과 특징을 탐색해보고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 2022 개정 교육과정 중 초⋅중학교의 공통 교육과정인 실과(기술⋅가정)과 고등학교의 선택 중심 교육과정 중 일반 선택 과목에 해당하는 기술⋅가정 교육과정 문서를 문헌 연구하였으며, 성취기준과 성취기준 해설, 성취기준 적용시 고려사항을 중심으로 분석하였다. 결과 분석 결과 공통 교육과정에서는 (1)인간 발달과 주도적 삶, (2)생활환경과 지속가능한 선택, (4)지속가능한 기술과 융합, 총 3개의 영역에서, 선택 중심 교육과정에서는 (1)생활문화와 디지털 환경, (6)지속가능한 융합 공학, 총 2개의 영역에서 지속가능한 식생활교육 내용을 직⋅간접적으로 포함하고 있었다. 초등학교 5⋅6학년 실과 교육과정에서는 거의 절반에 달하는 성취기준이 지속가능한 식생활교육과 연관되어 있었으나, 학교급이 올라갈수록 지속가능한 식생활교육 내용을 포함한 성취기준의 개수와 학교급 안에서의 비중이 급격히 줄어들었다. 또한, 초등학교 교육과정에서는 환경, 건강, 배려가 비교적 균형있게 포함된 반면, 중학교와 고등학교 교육과정에서는 중학교는 건강에, 고등학교는 배려에 그 내용이 편중되어 있음이 드러났다. 결론 국내외 식생활 교육의 패러다임이 지속가능한 식생활로 전환되고 있는 시대에 우리나라 교육과정은 이러한 시대적 과제를 더욱 충실히 반영할 책임이 있다. 따라서 초⋅중⋅고 실과(기술⋅가정) 교육과정에서 지속가능한 식생활교육의 핵심 가치인 환경, 건강, 배려의 모든 영역이 균형있고 충실하게 다루어져야 할 것이며, 학교급별 교육과정의 연계성을 강화하고, 중⋅고등학교 기술⋅가정 교육과정에 청소년기의 발달 단계를 반영한 실질적인 내용이 포함되도록 지속가능한 식생활 관련 성취기준을 보강 및 개발하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구가 교육과정 개발자, 교사 및 학생에게 균형 잡힌 시각을 제공하고 교육과정 개선에 기여하며 교육 현장에서 보다 충실한 지속가능한 식생활교육이 이루어지는 데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to analyze the 2022 revised Practical Arts (Technology and Home Economics) curriculum based on the framework of sustainable dietary education. It explores how the core values of sustainable dietary education―environment, health, and care―are reflected in the curriculum across elementary, middle, and high school levels, focusing on their proportions and characteristics. Methods The study conducted a document analysis of the Practical Arts curriculum, which is part of the common curriculum for elementary and middle schools, and the general elective subject of Technology and Home Economics for high schools. The analysis centered on achievement standards, their explanations, and considerations for application. Results The analysis revealed that the common curriculum includes sustainable dietary education content directly or indirectly in three areas: (1) Human Development and Autonomous Life, (2) Living Environment and Sustainable Choices, and (3) Sustainable Technology and Convergence. The elective curriculum contains relevant content in two areas: (1) Lifestyle and Digital Environment, and (6) Sustainable Convergent Engineering. In the elementary curriculum (Grades 5-6), nearly half of the achievement standards were related to sustainable dietary education. However, as the school level increased, the number and proportion of relevant achievement standards significantly decreased. Additionally, while the elementary curriculum balanced the values of environment, health, and care, the middle school curriculum focused heavily on health, and the high school curriculum on care. Conclusions As global paradigms shift toward sustainable dietary education, Korea’s curriculum must reflect these trends more comprehensively. It is essential to ensure balanced coverage of environment, health, and care across school levels, strengthen curriculum continuity, and include developmentally appropriate content for adolescents in the middle and high school curricula. This study aims to provide foundational data for curriculum developers, educators, and students, contributing to the enhancement of sustainable dietary education in schools.
