국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 제주 볍씨학교가 지역사회와 어떻게 공존 관계를 형성하고, 이를 통해 지속 가능성과 학생들의 전인적 성장에 기여하는지를 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 질적 사례연구를 수행하였으며, 연구 참여자로 제주 볍씨학교의 교원과 졸업생, 지역사회 기관 관계자 및 마을 주민들을 선정하여 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 면담 내용은 공존의 동기와 의미, 운영상의 어려움, 학생 성장에 미치는 영향, 적용 가능성, 그리고 지역 및 학교의 변화 등을 중심으로 이루어졌고, 포화점에 이를 때까지 진행되었다. 결과 연구의 분석 결과, 제주 볍씨학교와 지역사회의 공존은 ‘연대를 통한 교육적 가치의 추구’, ‘서로를 존중하며 함께하는 공동체 형성’, ‘경험을 통한 학생의 성장과 지역사회의 변화’, ‘교육 운영의 지속 가능성과 과제’의 4가지 범주로 분류되었다. 결론 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대안학교와 지역사회의 공존 과정은 공동의 목표와 가치를 중심으로, 연대를 기반으로 한 실천적 교육을 지향해야 한다. 둘째, 대안학교와 지역사회의 공존 과정은 서로를 존중하고, 나눔의 기쁨을 함께하는 공동체를 지향해야 한다. 셋째, 대안학교와 지역사회는 경험을 통한 상호작용으로 학생들의 성장과 지역사회 변화를 지속적으로 촉진해야 한다. 넷째, 대안학교와 지역사회의 공존을 더욱 발전시키고 지속가능성을 유지하기 위해서는 대안교육에 대한 이해와 인식 개선, 교육 운영의 재정 확보, 그리고 새로운 환경에서 학생들이 겪을 수 있는 신체적⋅정신적 부담을 완하하는 노력이 필요하다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 대안학교와 지역사회의 공존 과정을 촉진하기 위한 정책적 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore how Jeju Rice Seed School forms a coexistence relationship with the community and contributes to sustainability and students' holistic growth. Methods In order to achieve these research objectives, this study conducted a qualitative case study, and in-depth interviews were conducted by selecting teachers and graduates of Jeju rice seed school, community institution officials, and villagers as participants in the study. The interview focused on the motivation and meaning of coexistence, operational difficulties, the impact on student growth, applicability, and changes in regions and schools, and it was conducted until the saturation point was reached. Results As a result of the study's analysis, the coexistence of Jeju rice seed school and local community was classified into four categories: “pursuing educational values through solidarity,” “forming a community that respects and shares each other,” “student growth and community change through experience,” and “sustainability and challenges in educational management.” Conclusions The conclusion of the study is as follows. First, the process of coexistence of alternative schools and local communities should aim for practical education based on solidarity, focusing on common goals and values. Second, the process of coexistence between alternative schools and local communities should respect each other and aim for a community that shares the joy of sharing. Third, alternative schools and local communities should continuously promote student growth and community change through interaction through experience. Fourth, in order to further develop the coexistence of alternative schools and local communities and maintain sustainability, efforts to improve understanding and awareness of alternative education, secure finances for educational management, and alleviate the physical and mental burden that students may experience in a new environment are needed. Based on these research results, policy suggestions to promote the process of coexistence between alternative schools and local communities were presented.
