무전공 입학 정책 방안을 위한 대학 신입생의 전공계열에 따른 진로준비 차이 및 요구도 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 대학 신입생의 전공계열에 따른 진로준비의 차이를 알아보고, 진로준비 우선순위를 분석하여 무전공 입학 정책 방안을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위하여 서울과 충청도 지역 대학 신입생 215명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 연구대상은 전공계열별 특성을 반영하여 인문사회상경계열과 자연공학계열로 분류하였다. 수집된 데이터는 SPSS 23.0 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 전공계열에 따른 차이 검증을 실시하였으며, 중요도-현재 수준 분석를 통해 각 항목의 상대적 중요도를 평가하였다. 보리치 요구도 모델을 통해 지원이 시급한 항목을 도출하고, Locus for Focus 모델을 활용하여 각 계열별 진로준비 우선순위를 상세히 분석하였다. 결과 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인문사회상경계열 신입생의 진로준비를 위한 요구도 분석결과, ‘1.1.4.진로문제 해결을 위하여 여러 대안을 분석하여 가장 효과적인 방법 선택’, ‘1.2.3.진로와 관련된 나의 전공영역에 대한 진로지식’, ‘1.2.4.진로와 관련된 진로지식을 어떻게 수집하는지 인지’, ‘2.2.7.내가 원하는 직종에 취업하기 위하여 어떤 진로준비가 필요한지 계획’, ‘3.1.1.진로탐색을 위한 교수님이나 전문가에게 진로상담’, ‘3.2.1.취업준비에 필요한 각종 자격증 준비’, ‘3.2.3.취업준비에 필요한 인턴십, 현장실습, 봉사활동 등의 취업실전경험’, ‘3.2.4.취업준비에 필요한 이력서와 자기소개서 준비’가 공통적인 항목으로 나타나 우선적으로 지원해 줄 것이 요구되었다. 둘째, 자연공학계열 신입생의 진로준비를 위한 요구도 분석결과, ‘3.2.3.취업준비에 필요한 인턴십, 현장실습, 봉사활동 등의 취업실전경험’, ‘3.2.4.취업준비에 필요한 이력서와 자기소개서 준비’가 공통적인 항목으로 나타나 우선적으로 지원해 줄 것이 요구되었다. 결론 본 연구결과는 전공계열별로 맞춤형 진로준비 교육의 필요성을 다시 확인한 것으로 무전공 입학이 확대 됨에 따라 대학에서 진로지원 프로그램 개발에 중요한 기초자료가 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the differences in career preparation among freshman university students based on their major disciplines, analyze their priorities in career preparation, and explore potential strategies for the undeclared major admission policy. Methods To this end, a study was conducted with 215 freshmen from universities in the Seoul and Chungcheong regions. The research subjects were classified into two groups based on their academic fields: Humanities, social sciences, and business, and natural and engineering sciences. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 statistical software. The differences based on academic fields were tested using t-tests and χ² tests, and the relative importance of each item was evaluated through IPA. The urgent items that require support were identified through the Borich Needs Assessment Model, and the career preparation priorities for each academic field were analyzed in detail using the Locus for Focus Model. Results The main results are as follows: First, the analysis of the needs for career preparation among freshmen in the humanities, social sciences, and business fields revealed several common areas requiring priority support. These areas include: ‘1.1.4. Analyzing various alternatives to choose the most effective method for solving career-related problems,’ ‘1.2.3. Knowledge about my major field related to career,’ ‘1.2.4. Awareness of how to gather career-related knowledge,’ ‘2.2.7. Planning the necessary career preparation to obtain the desired job,’ ‘3.1.1. Seeking career counseling from professors or experts for career exploration,’ ‘3.2.1. Preparing various certifications needed for job preparation,’ ‘3.2.3. Gaining practical job experience through internships, fieldwork, or volunteer activities,’ and ‘3.2.4. Preparing resumes and cover letters required for job preparation.’ Second, the analysis of the needs for career preparation among freshmen in the natural and engineering sciences revealed that the common areas requiring priority support were: ‘3.2.3. Gaining practical job experience through internships, fieldwork, or volunteer activities,’ and ‘3.2.4. Preparing resumes and cover letters required for job preparation.’ Conclusions The results of this study reaffirm the need for tailored career preparation education based on major disciplines. As the number of students entering universities without a declared major increases, these findings can serve as important foundational data for the development of career support programs.
