영문 초록

The objective of this study is to suggest a framework of policy alternatives that would help resolve peacefully and diplomatically the current nuclear row involving North Korea and the United States. The thrust of the argument is that a package deal based on the principle of simultaneous actions would favor the US because America will incur little loss if cheating occurs by pyongyang while, in the case that the US cheats of the agreement, North Korea will have much to lose if it is has undertaken the irreversible and complete dismantling of its nuclear weapons program, a process that will be difficult to reverse. Under this general principle a set of specific policy alternatives are suggested.
