국문 초록

翰南書林은 일제강점기에 新刊이 아닌 古書만을 간행, 판매하던 서점이자 출판사로서 유명하다. 특별히 한남서림에서 간행한 방각본 고소설 간행물은 고소설 연구에 있어 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 한남서림의 창업주였던 심재 백두용과 한남서림의 역사를 온전히 재구성할 만한 자료나 논의가 그동안 별반 없었다. 본고에서는 이를 극복할 수 있는 대안격의 자료로 새롭게 발굴한 『家藏圖書帖』이 요긴하다고 보고, 이를 본고에서 처음 소개하고자 했다. 『가장도서첩』은 한남서림 개업을 축하하는 의미로 당대 324명에 달하는 유명 인사들과 지인들이 써 준 시문을 모아놓은 것으로 1913년~1916년 사이에 작성되었다. 『가장도서첩』을 통해 한남서림 개업 초기의 모습과 주인인 心齋 白斗鏞의 생애와 그에 대한 세간의 평가까지 종합적으로 정리, 재구성하는 것이 가능하다. 또한 당대 지식인들이 한남서림의 설치야말로 보다 많은 이들이 독서할 수 있도록 만드는 仁者의 행위이자 公利的 사고의 산물로 인식했음 또한 확인할 수 있다. 이는 앞으로 20세기 초 서적 및 소설 유통과 출판, 소비와 생산의 문제를 초창기 서점과 서점주인(서적상)을 매개로 문학사회학적 측면에서 들여다보는 데도 시사하는 바가 적지 않다. 본고는 백두용의 한남서림과 『가장도서첩』에 관한 종합적 고찰을 위한 밑그림에 해당한다.

영문 초록

HanNamSeoRim(翰南書林) by Baek Du-Yong(白斗鏞) is one of early bookstore which was established in Seoul in about 1900. Especially that bookstore was famous that published chiefly not new books, but old books like old novel in 1920 s. But, it was problem that it didn t studied about who Baek Du-Yong as a owner of that bookstore was, when bookstore was established, and which kind of books at that bookstore were published concretely until now. Those problems were often due to insufficiency of adequate materials to study. To solve those problems, this study is purposed to introduce new material GaJangDoSeoCheob(家藏圖書帖), which this material is a kind of album that is similar with a selection of prose and poetry for the bookstore HanNamSeoRim opening congratulation in a period of 1913~1916. There are 324 participants who wrote congratulatory note in a process of making for GaJangDoSeoCheob. Participants were mostly famous contemporaries in various fields. They put Baek Du-Yong above other publishers as a owner of bookstore, because they believe that he wanted to distribute his own books among other people who want to read it. We can make sure who Baek Du-Yong was, and how he is appreciated by people, what he wanted, by GajangDoSeoCheob. This paper is first step to study about life history of Baek Du-Yong, for arrangement of publishing list at HanNamSeoRim, to estimate GaJangDoSeoCheob itself in the field of literal sociology.
