국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 중년여성인 연구자의 삶을 중심으로, 태내기부터 형성된 불안정 애착으로 인한 공포 경험과 그로부터 자기수용에 이르는 내면의 변화를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 통해 공포와 자기수용 간의 심리적 관계를 이해하고, 자기수용의 형성과정에서 드러나는 정서적 의미를 밝혀내고자 하였다. 방법 연구자 자신의 경험을 중심으로, 그 안에 담긴 정서적⋅사회문화적 맥락을 해석하고 성찰하는 자문화기술지 방법을 사용하였다. 이를 위해 상담 축어록, 성찰일지, 회상자료, 인터뷰 등을 수집하고, 시간의 흐름에 따른 의미 변화와 감정의 변화를 함께 고려하기 위해 종단적 코딩과 감정코딩을 병행하여 분석하였다. 반복적 검토를 통해 핵심 경험을 정리하고, 공포와 자기수용을 중심으로 주제를 도출하였다. 결과 ‘회피해야만 했던 나’, ‘존재 거부의 공포’, ‘자기수용을 통해 삶을 찾는 나’ 라는 세 가지 주제가 도출되었다. 이는 불안정 애착이 개인의 삶에 미친 영향을 탐색하고, 태내기의 공포가 핵심감정의 형성에 미친 영향을 인식하며, 자기수용이 어떻게 이루어지는지를 보여준다. 결론 본 연구는 원인을 설명하기 어려운 만성적 공포를 이해하는 데 단서를 제공하며, 태내기 경험 탐색이 상담에서 중요한 대안이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to explore the inner transformation of a middle-aged woman—the researcher herself—focusing on her experience of fear stemming from insecure attachment formed since the prenatal period, and her journey toward self-acceptance. It seeks to understand the psychological relationship between fear and self-acceptance and to uncover the emotional meanings revealed in the process of developing self-acceptance. Methods This study employed an autoethnographic method, focusing on the researcher’s own experiences and interpreting and reflecting on the emotional and sociocultural contexts embedded within them. To this end, Counseling transcripts, reflective journals, recollections, and interviews were collected and analyzed using longitudinal and emotion coding to examine changes in meaning and emotion over time. Through repeated review, I organized core experiences, and identified key themes centered on fear and self-acceptance. Results Three key themes emerged: “A self that had to avoid,” “Fear of existential rejection,” and “Finding life through self-acceptance.” These findings explore the impact of insecure attachment on an individual’s life, recognize how prenatal fear influences the formation of core emotions, and demonstrate how self-acceptance is achieved. Conclusions This study provides insights into understanding individuals with chronic fear that is difficult to explain and suggests that exploring prenatal experiences may serve as a meaningful alternative in counseling.
