국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 학교 공간 개선시 학생들이 인지하는 교육적 효과의 정도를 측정하기 위해 “학교 공간의 교육효과 척도”를 개발하고 타당화하는 것이다. 방법 본 척도는 선행연구와 관계자 심층면담을 통해 4개 영역인 ‘학교 공간의 기본 요건’, ‘학교 공간의 특성화 요건’, ‘학교 공간 활용 경험’, ‘교육성과’ 75개의 예비문항으로 구성되었다. 예비조사는 초등학생 228명을 대상으로 수행되었으며, 75개 문항에 대한 문항분석과 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 예비조사 후, 수정⋅보완 과정을 거쳐 선정된 68개 문항에 대해 초등학생 273명, 중학생 308명을 대상으로 본조사를 진행하였고, 문항분석 및 확인적 요인분석을 통해 척도의 측정학적 신뢰도와 타당도를 확인하였다. 결과 탐색적 요인분석 결과, 최종 ‘학교 공간의 기본 요건’, ‘학교 공간의 특성화 요건’, ‘학교 공간 활용 경험’, ‘교육성과’의 4개 영역, 총 68문항으로 확정하였고, 전체적인 요인 구성의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 확인적 요인분석을 수행한 결과 χ2=735.808 (p<.001), CFI=.943, TLI=.933, RMSEA=.083으로 나타나 타당성을 확인하였다. 또한, 4개의 각 영역별 연구모형의 적합도를 분석한 결과, ‘학교 공간의 기본 요건’ 영역의 CFI=.951, TLI=.939, RMSEA=.063, ‘학교 공간의 특성화 요건’ 영역의 적합도 지수는 CFI=.941, TLI=.925, RMSEA=.075, ‘학교 공간 활용 경험’ 영역은 CFI=.973, TLI=.963, RMSEA=.077, ‘교육성과’ 영역은 CFI=.942, TLI=.934, RMSEA=.067로 나타나 각 세부 영역별 요인 구조가 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 척도의 신뢰도 분석 결과, 전체 척도의 Cronbach’s 는 .981으로 나타났으며, 4개 영역의 Cronbach’s 는 각각 .932, .942, .959, .955로 높게 산출되었다. 결론 학교 공간의 교육효과 척도는 학생의 학교 공간 요건에 대한 인식 및 학교 공간 활용 경험을 바탕으로 인지되는 교육적 효과를 조사할 수 있는 신뢰롭고 타당한 측정도구임을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the “Effectiveness of School Space Scales for School Students” in order to measure the educational effects perceived by students following the improvement of school spaces. Methods For this purpose, this scale was developed through a literature review of previous studies and in-depth interviews with stakeholders, resulting in 75 items categorized into four factors: “School space fundamental condition”, “school space specialized condition”, “school space utilization experience,” and “educational outcomes.” In the study 1, an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted on 228 elementary school students as a scale refinement. Following a process of revision and refinement, a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with final 68 items was conducted on 273 elementary school students and 308 middle school students to assess The psychometric properties of the scale, including reliability and validity. Results The EFA results confirmed a final scale consisting of four factors: School space fundamental condition, school space specialized condition, school space utilization experience, and educational outcomes, with a total of 68 items. To verify the validity of the overall factor structure, CFA was performed, yielding the following results: χ²=735.808(p<.001), CFI=.943, TLI=.933, and RMSEA=.083, confirming the validity of the scale. Furthermore, an analysis of the fit for each of the four domains revealed the following: for school space perception, CFI=.951, TLI=.939, RMSEA=.063; for school space specialization, CFI=.941, TLI=.925, RMSEA=.075; for school space utilization experience, CFI=.973, TLI=.963, RMSEA=.077; and for educational outcomes, CFI=.942, TLI=.934, RMSEA=.067, indicating that the factor structures of each subdomain were appropriate. The reliability analysis of the scale showed a Cronbach’s alpha of .981 for the overall scale, and .932, .942, .959, and .955 for the four domains, respectively, indicating high reliability. Conclusions The Effectiveness of School Space Scale is a reliable and valid tool for assessing the educational effects perceived by students based on their perceptions of school space elements and their experiences of utilizing the school space.
