무전공 대학생의 CSI(Career Story Interview)활용 진로상담 사례연구: K대학을 중심으로

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 K대학교 무전공 입학 대학생을 대상으로 CSI(Career Story Interview)를 활용한 진로상담 사례연구로, 무전공 대학생들의 진로와 관련한 실질적 상담사례를 제시하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 연구참여를 희망한 K대학 무전공 대학생 7명을 대상으로 진로구성인터뷰(CSI)를 실시하여 상담 자료를 수집하였으며, Creswell의 분석방법에 따라 사례 내 분석과 사례 간 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 사례 내 분석에서는 무전공 입학 대학생 7명의 상담 내용을 각 사례별로 요약하여 제시하였고, 사례 간 분석을 통해 11개 하위범주와 5개의 상위범주를 도출하였다. 5개의 상위범주는 ‘역할모델을 통한 암묵적 진로 탐색’, ‘삶의 흥미와 직업적 흥미의 연결 시도’, ‘선호하는 이야기를 통한 삶의 대처 방식 탐색’, ‘자신에게 주는 충고를 통한 행동 실천과 삶의 방향 설정’, ‘초기 기억에서 발견하는 삶의 원형’으로, 진로구성 인터뷰의 질문범주와 무전공 입학 대학생의 특성이 연계되는 형태로 구성되었다. 상위범주의 하위범주들은 전공이 없고, 진로 미결정 상황을 반영하면서도, 무전공 대학생들이 진로구성인터뷰에 참여하면서 자기 구성(self-construction)과 진로 구성(career-construction)의 모습을 탐색하고 있었다. 결론 이 연구를 통해 무전공 대학생들에게 CSI를 활용한 진로상담이 효과가 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 무전공 대학생들에 대한 진로상담의 방향성을 탐색할 수 있었다. 특히, 진로구성 이론에 따른 상담프로그램이나 비교과 프로그램이 개발될 필요성이 제기되었다. 무전공 대학생들이 진로상담과정에서 초기 기억에 대해 떠올리고 확인하는 과정은 삶의 근원을 탐색함으로써 삶의 방향을 결정짓는 중요 요인임을 확인하였다. 연구결과에 따른 세 가지 연구 의의와 세 가지 연구의 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study is a case study of career counseling using the Career Story Interview (CSI) for university students who entered the university without a major. The purpose of this study is to present practical counseling cases related to the career paths of non-major university students. Methods Career story interviews (CSI) were conducted with seven non-major university students at K University who wished to participate in the study, and counseling data was collected. The collected data were analyzed within and between cases according to Creswell's analysis method. Results In the case analysis, the counseling content of 7 non-majoring university students was summarized and presented for each case. Through case-by-case analysis, 11 subcategories and 5 super-categories were derived. The five upper categories are ‘implicit career exploration through role models’, ‘attempts to connect life interests with career interests’, ‘exploring ways to cope with life through preferred stories’, ‘setting life direction and putting actions into practice through advice given to oneself’, and ‘the archetype of life discovered in early memories’, and they were composed in a form that linked the question categories of the career story interview with the characteristics of non-major admitted university students. The subcategories reflect the situation of having no major and being undecided about one's career path, while also exploring the self-construction and career-construction patterns of non-major university students as they participate in career story interviews. Conclusions Through this study, we were able to confirm that career counseling using CSI is effective for non-major university students, and explore the direction of career counseling for non-major students. In particular, the need to develop counseling programs and extracurricular programs based on career path composition theory has been raised. It was confirmed that the process of recalling and confirming early memories during the career counseling process for non-major university students is an important factor in determining the direction of life by exploring the origin of life. Based on the research results, three research implications and three research suggestions were presented.
