유치원 교사의 소진과 회복에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 유치원 교사의 소진과 회복에 관한 경험을 탐색하고자 실시하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 S시와 D시 유치원에 근무하는 교직경력이 5년 이상 된 유치원교사 10명을 대상으로 2025년 1월 자료를 수집한 후 경험의 구체적인 의미와 본질을 발견할 수 있는 현상학적 방법을 사용하여 대상자들의 공통 경험을 분석하였다. 결과 분석결과 ‘소진의 인식과 원인’, ‘소진의 양상’, ‘소진의 대처방법’, ‘소진과 회복 경험의 의미’의 총 4개의 상위주제와 ‘교육지도에서 느끼는 어려움’, ‘학부모와의 소통 및 관계 어려움’, ‘안전사고에 대한 우려’ 등 13개의 하위주제, ‘유아의 지시 불이행 및 통제의 어려움’, ‘공격적인 유아 지도의 어려움’, ‘안전사고에 대한 과도한 책임요구와 날선 질책’ 등 26개의 의미단위가 도출되었다. 결론 본 연구는 유치원 교사의 소진과 회복에 관한 경험을 구체적으로 살펴봄으로써 소진과 회복에 대한 심층적 이해를 돕기 위한 지원책들과 방안을 모색하는데 도움이 되는 기초자료를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study was conducted to explore the burnout and recovery experiences of kindergarten teachers. Methods To this end, data were collected from 10 kindergarten teachers with more than 5 years of teaching experience working in kindergartens in S City and D City in January 2025, and the subjects' common experiences were analyzed using a phenomenological method that can discover the specific meaning and essence of the experience. Results As a result of the analysis, a total of four upper-level themes were derived: ‘Perception and causes of burnout’, ‘Aspects of burnout’, ‘Coping methods for burnout’, and ‘Meaning of burnout and recovery experiences’; 13 sub-themes, including ‘Difficulties felt in educational guidance’, ‘Difficulties in communication and relationships with parents’, and ‘Concerns about safety accidents’; and 26 meaning units, including ‘Difficulties in controlling and failing to follow directions by young children’, ‘Difficulties in guiding aggressive young children’, and ‘Excessive demands for responsibility and sharp reprimands for safety accidents’. Conclusions This study is significant in that it provides basic data that can be helpful in seeking support measures and methods to promote a deeper understanding of burnout and recovery by specifically examining the experiences of kindergarten teachers regarding burnout and recovery.
