예비 초등영어 교사의 디지털 리터러시 역량 수준 탐색 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 예비 초등영어 교사의 디지털 리터러시 역량 수준을 파악하기 위해 영어교육에서의 디지털 기술 사용 경험과 인식을 탐색하고 이를 바탕으로 예비 초등영어교사에게 필요한 교사교육의 내용 요소를 확인하고자한다. 방법 예비 초등영어 교사의 디지털 리터러시 역량 수준을 탐색하기 위해 S시 교육대학교 3학년에 재학 중인 남녀 학부생 50명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 디지털 리터러시 역량 수준을 조사하기 위해 리커트 5점 척도로 설문지를 구성하였으며, 디지털 리터러시의 5가지 하위 역량을 반영하였다. 또한, 영역별 빈도와 표준편차를 산출하고, 각 요소 간의 상관관계도 분석하였다. 결과 응답자의 디지털 리터러시 역량 수준의 전체 평균은 4. 19 (표준 편차 0.49)이었으며 영역별로 가장 평균이 높은 영역은 테크놀로지 기술에 대한 태도 영역이었다. 반면 5개 요소 중 가장 낮은 영역은 영어 관련 학습 전략 영역으로 응답자의 평균은 3. 63으로 확인되었다. 응답자들은 일상생활에서 사회적 소통을 위한 도구로서 활용 빈도는 높지만 영어 학습을 위한 소통의 도구로의 활용도는 낮았다. 역량의 하위 요소 간 상관관계 조사 결과 테크놀로지 지식 기술 요소와 테크놀로지 실행 활용 요소 간의 상관관계가 가장 높았다. 결론 교사의 디지털 리터러시 역량은 수업 전문성과도 관련성이 높다. 영어 학습 시 디지털 기술을 활용한 학습 전략을 사용하며 디지털 기술을 활용한 영어 학습에 대한 긍정적 태도는 영어 교수자로서의 디지털 역량을 갖추는데 필요한 요소이므로 예비 교사 교육 프로그램 개발과 실천 항목을 구체화하는 후속 연구가 필요하다. 또한 역량 하위 요소들 간의 상관관계를 고려하여 디지털 기술을 활용한 긍정적인 경험이 디지털 기술을 활용한 영어 학습 전략 사용으로 이어질 수 있도록 현장과 연계된 교사교육 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives In order to understand the level of digital literacy competency of pre-primary English teachers, this study explores the experience and perception of digital technology use in English education and, based on this, identifies the content elements of teacher education necessary for pre-primary English teachers. Methods To explore the level of digital literacy competency of pre-service elementary English teachers, a survey was conducted on 50 male and female undergraduate students enrolled in the third grade of S City University of Education. The questionnaire for the level survey of digital literacy competency was composed by reflecting the five sub-competencies of digital literacy on a Likert 5-point scale, and once the frequency and standard deviation of each area were obtained, the correlation between each factor was also confirmed. Results As a result, the overall average of the respondents' digital literacy competency level was 4.19 (standard deviation 0.49), and the area with the highest average by area was the attitude area for technology. On the other hand, the lowest area among the five elements was the English-related learning strategy area, and the average of the respondents was 3.63. Respondents used it frequently as a tool for social communication in their daily lives, but their use as a tool for communication for English learning was low. As a result of the correlation survey between the sub-factors of competency, the correlation between the elements of technology knowledge and technology and the elements of use of technology execution was the highest. Conclusions A teacher’s digital literacy competency is also highly related to teaching expertise. Since learning strategies using digital technology are used when learning English, and a positive attitude toward English learning using digital technology is a necessary factor to acquire digital competencies as an English instructor, a follow-up study is needed to develop and implement pre-service teacher education programs. Additionally, a teacher education program linked to the field should be developed so that positive experiences using digital technology can lead to the use of English learning strategies using digital technology, taking into account the correlation between competency sub-factors.
