국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 부모의 과보호 양육방식과 내현적 자기애의 관계에서 자기대상욕구의 매개효과를 살펴봄으로써, 상담 장면에서 갖는 치료적 함의를 확인하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법 검증을 위해 부천 소재 C 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 414명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시했으며, 부모-자녀 결합 형태 검사(PBI), 내현적 자기애 척도(CNS), 한국판 자기대상욕구 척도(K-SONI)로 구성된 설문지를 사용했다. 수집된 설문자료를 분석하여 변인들 간의 상관관계를 확인하고, 구조방정식 모형 분석 및 매개효과 검증을 진행했다. 결과 부모의 과보호 양육방식이 자기대상욕구 갈망과 자기대상욕구 회피를 완전매개하여 간접적으로 내현적 자기애에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인했다. 결론 과보호하는 부모의 양육방식은 자기대상욕구의 정상적인 성숙 과정에 걸림돌이 되어 내현적 자기애 성향의 촉발요인이 될 수 있다. 상담 장면에서는 내현적 자기애 성향을 가진 내담자의 자기대상욕구가 치료적 개입의 중요한 초점이 될 수 있으며, 원시적인 형태의 미성숙한 자기대상욕구를 보다 온건하고, 현실적인 욕구로 변화시키는 것이 효과적일 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the therapeutic implications in counseling settings by investigating the mediating effect of self-object desire in the relationship between parental overprotection and covert narcissism. Methods A survey was conducted with 414 college students attending C University in Bucheon, using a questionnaire that included the Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI), the Covert Narcissism Scale (CNS), and the Korean version of the Self-Object Need Inventory (K-SONI). The collected questionnaire data were analyzed to confirm the correlations between variables, and structural equation modeling and mediation effect analysis were performed. Results It was found that parental overprotection indirectly affect covert narcissism by fully mediating self-object need craving and self-object need avoidance. Conclusions An overprotective parenting style can hinder the normal maturation process of self-object desires, potentially triggering covert narcissistic tendencies. In counseling settings, focusing on the self-object desires of clients with covert narcissistic tendencies may become an important aspect of therapeutic intervention. It may be effective to help clients transform primitive, immature self-object desires into more moderate and realistic desires.
