자녀가 없는 기혼 초심 청소년상담사의 부모상담 역전이 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 자녀가 없는 기혼 초심 청소년상담사들이 부모 상담 과정에서 경험하는 역전이의 양상을 탐색하고, 이들의 대처 및 성장 경험의 의미와 본질을 밝히는 데 있다. 방법 참여자의 경험을 보다 충실히 반영하고, 그 본질적 의미를 탐색하기 위해 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구 방법을 적용하였다. 상담 경력 2년 이상~5년 이하로 자녀가 없는 기혼 초심 청소년상담사 8명을 대상으로 반구조화된 개방형 질문을 활용한 심층 면담(90~120분)을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 면담 내용은 녹취 후 전사하여 분석하였으며, 분석 과정은 Colaizzi의 연구 절차에 따라 반복적 자료 검토, 의미 단위 도출, 상위 및 하위 주제 구성, 본질적 구조 도출의 단계를 거쳤다. 결과 분석 결과, 103개의 의미단위와, 26개의 하위주제, 10개의 상위주제가 도출되었다. 상위 주제로는 ‘부모 경험 부재를 만회하기 위한 과한 마음’, ‘부모 상담 중 미묘한 관계 실랑이’, ‘부모를 향해 거세게 반응하는 몸과 마음’, ‘상담의 미로에서 방향 잃은 표류’, ‘부메랑이 되어 덮쳐 오는 뿌리 깊은 그림자’, ‘막다른 길에서 시작되는 전환점’, ‘역전이를 지렛대 삼아 도약하는 전문성’, ‘진정성 있는 관계 속 부모와 동반 성장’, ‘실전에서 단단해지는 맷집’, ‘부재의 수용, 성장의 밑거름’을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 자녀가 없는 기혼 초심 상담사들이 자녀 부재로 인해 경험하는 불안, 자기 의심, 역전이가 상담 관계와 전문성 발달에 미치는 영향을 탐색한 것에 의의가 있다. 참여자들은 부모 경험의 부재로 인한 결핍을 메우려는 과도한 노력으로 인해 미묘한 관계적 갈등과 혼란을 경험하였으나, 이를 성장의 자원으로 전환하며 상담전문가로서 성숙해 가는 과정을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 상담자 교육과 수퍼비전에서 역전이를 효과적으로 인식하고 조절할 수 있는 개입 전략 개발에 기초 자료를 제공하며, 초심 상담사들이 역전이를 보다 건설적으로 활용할 수 있도록 돕는 교육 및 훈련 프로그램 마련에 유용한 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study explores the countertransference experiences of married novice youth counselors without children in parent counseling and examines their coping and growth processes. Methods IThis study applied Colaizzi’s phenomenological method to deeply explore participants’ experiences and their essential meanings. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews (90-120 minutes) with eight married novice youth counselors without children, who had 2 to 5 years of counseling experience. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed following Colaizzi’s process, including repeated data review, extraction of meaning units, categorization of themes, and identification of the essential structure. Results The analysis revealed 103 meaning units, 26 sub-themes, and 10 main themes were derived. The main themes identified were: Excessive Efforts to Compensate for the Lack of Parental Experience, Subtle Relational Struggles in Parent Counseling, Intense Emotional and Physical Reactions Toward Parents, Drifting Aimlessly in the Maze of Counseling, Deep-Rooted Shadows That Boomerang Back, Turning Points Emerging at Dead Ends, Leveraging Countertransference for Professional Growth, Mutual Growth with Parents Through Authentic Relationships, Building Resilience Through Real-World Practice, and Acceptance of Absence as a Foundation for Growth. Conclusions Findings highlight how married novice counselors without children experience anxiety, self-doubt, and countertransference, influencing their counseling relationships and professional development. Their excessive efforts to compensate for the lack of parenting experience lead to relational conflicts and confusion, but they gradually transform countertransference into a resource for growth. This study emphasizes the importance of training and supervision in helping counselors recognize and manage countertransference effectively.
