아동과 모의 삶의 만족도 궤적을 활용한 유형화 분석 및 집단별 특성에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 아동과 모의 삶의 만족도 궤적을 살펴보고 이에 따른 유형화 분석 및 아동-모의 삶의 만족도 궤적의 연관성과 유형별 특성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법 본 연구의 분석 대상으로는 한국아동패널 데이터 11차년도(2018년)∼15차년도(2022년) 자료를 활용했으며 평균, 백분율, 사건 계열 분석, 교차 분석, 상관관계 분석, 군집 분석, 차이 검정을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 모의 삶의 만족도는 자녀의 연령이 많아짐에 따라 조금씩 개선되는 양상을 보이기는 하나, 개인에 따라 1.만족도가 계속해서 높았던 집단(M1), 2. 시간이 지날수록 점차 만족도가 높아진 집단(M2), 3. 시간이 지날수록 점차 만족도가 낮아진 집단(M3), 4. 계속해서 만족도가 낮았던 집단(M4)으로 구분되었다. 둘째, 아동의 삶의 만족도는 모의 삶의 만족도와 달리 아동의 연령이 많아질수록 낮아지는 경향성을 보였으며, 지속적으로 높은 삶의 만족도를 보이는 집단(C1), 삶의 만족도가 증감을 반복하는 집단(C2), 초등6학년 이후 삶의 만족도가 급격하게 낮아진 집단(C3), 지속적으로 삶의 만족도가 낮은 집단(C4)으로 구분되었다. 셋째, 아동과 모의 삶의 만족도가 모두 지속적으로 높은 수준을 보이는 집단(CM1)과 아동의 삶의 만족도는 지속적으로 낮은 편이었거나 최근에 낮아진 집단인데 반해, 모의 삶의 만족도는 전반적으로 높은 수준을 유지하고 있는 집단(CM2), 아동의 삶의 만족도는 지속적으로 높은 수준을 유지하지 하고 있으나, 모의 삶의 만족도가 전반적으로 낮은 수준을 보이는 집단(CM3), 아동과 모의 삶의 만족도가 지속적으로 낮은 수준을 보였던 집단(CM4)으로 구분할 수 있었다. 또한 유형별 차이를 주는 변인으로는 가구소득, 학업이해도, 성취압력, 학업스트레스, 애착, 부부 갈등이었다. 결론 본 연구는 아동과 모의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 파악하고 가구의 삶의 만족도를 증진시키기 위한 정책을 마련하는데 있어서 유용한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이라는 점에서 의의가 크다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study examined the life satisfaction trajectories of children and mothers, conducted a typological analysis based on these trajectories, and explored the relationship between the trajectories of child-mother life satisfaction as well as the characteristics of each identified type. Methods For the analysis, this study used data from the 11th to 15th waves of the Panel study on Korean children (PSKC). The research methods included descriptive statistics (means and percentages), sequence analysis, cross-tabulation, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and difference testing. Results First, although maternal life satisfaction showed a slight improvement as children aged, it varied by individual and was categorized into four groups: 1) consistently high satisfaction (M1), 2) gradually increasing satisfaction over time (M2), 3) gradually decreasing satisfaction over time (M3), and 4) consistently low satisfaction (M4). Second, unlike maternal life satisfaction, children's life satisfaction tended to decrease as they got older. Children were classified into four groups: 1) consistently high life satisfaction (C1), 2) fluctuating life satisfaction (C2), 3) sharply declining life satisfaction after the 6th grade (C3), and 4) consistently low life satisfaction (C4). Third, the study identified four child-mother satisfaction patterns: 1) both child and mother maintained consistently high life satisfaction (CM1), 2) children had consistently low or recently declined life satisfaction, while mothers maintained high satisfaction (CM2), 3) children maintained consistently high life satisfaction, but mothers had consistently low satisfaction (CM3), and 4) both child and mother had consistently low life satisfaction (CM4). Additionally, the variables that contributed to the differences among the types included household income, academic understanding, achievement pressure, academic stress, attachment, and marital conflict. Conclusions This study is of considerable significance as it identifies the determinants influencing life satisfaction among children and mothers. The findings provide crucial empirical data that can inform the formulation of policies aimed at enhancing life satisfaction within households.
