청소년의 정치성향이 정치적 태도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 청소년의 제도적 정치참여활동이 점점 확대되고 있는 시점에서 청소년의 정치성향 중 보수, 중도, 진보성향의 집단이 정치효능감, 정치관심, 정치참여활동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 살펴보기 위함이다. 방법 이를 위하여 연구자는 대전광역시에 거주하고 있는 중·고등학교 소속 및 청소년수련시설에서 활동하고 있는 청소년 418명 대상으로 오프라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 정치성향을 독립변수로, 정치효능감, 정치관심, 정치참여활동을 종속변수로 설정하여 분석하였다. 결과 첫째, 청소년의 정치성향 중 보수성향보다 진보와 중도성향의 집단이 정치효능감이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 보수성향보다 진보와 중도성향이 정치관심도가 더 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 청소년의 정치성향 중 진보성향 보다 보수성향이, 진보성향 보다 중도성향이 정치참여활동이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 결론 이러한 연구를 바탕으로 본 연구는 청소년의 정치참여 활성화를 위한 정책적 제언을 제시하였다. 첫째, 청소년의 정치참여활동 활성화를 위한 법적 장치의 변화가 필요하다. 둘째, 청소년 정치참여에 관한 우리나라 교육현장의 적극적인 관심과 변화가 필요하다. 셋째, 청소년 정치참여 활성화를 위한 청소년활동 현장의 노력이 요구된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to examine the influence of conservative, moderate, and progressive political tendencies among youth on their political efficacy, political interest, and political participation activities at a time when youth's institutional political participation activities are gradually expanding. Methods To this end, the researcher conducted an offline survey of 418 youths residing in Daejeon Metropolitan City who belong to middle and high schools and are active in youth training facilities, and analyzed the results by setting political inclination as an independent variable and political efficacy, political interest, and political participation activities as dependent variables. Results First, among the political tendencies of youth, progressive and moderate groups were found to have higher political efficacy than conservative groups. Second, among the political tendencies of youth, progressive and moderate groups were found to have higher political interest than conservative groups. Third, among the political tendencies of youth, conservative groups were found to have higher political participation activities than progressive groups, and moderate groups were found to have higher political participation activities than progressive groups. Conclusions Based on this research, this study presents policy suggestions for activating youth political participation. First, changes in legal mechanisms are needed to activate youth political participation activities. Second, active interest and changes in the educational field in Korea regarding youth political participation are needed. Third, efforts are needed in the field of youth activities to activate youth political participation.
