저경력 중등교원의 학습기회와 교수·학습역량에 대한 인식 간의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 저경력 중등교원의 교수·학습역량에 대한 인식을 진단하고, 예비교원교육, 현직 교원 연수, 교원학습공동체 참여 등 교원의 학습기회와 교수·학습역량의 관계를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울특별시교육청의 「서울교원종단연구(SELST) 2020」 데이터를 활용하여 교직 경력 5년 미만의 저경력 중등교원의 교수·학습역량의 세 개 영역인 교육과정 재구성 역량, 수업 설계와 실행 역량, 학생 평가 역량에 대한 인식을 기술통계를 통하여 진단하였다. 또한, 세 가지 영역의 교수·학습역량과 교원의 학습기회의 관계를 분석하기 위하여 학교 변인, 교원 개인 변인, 학습기회 변인을 차례로 투입하는 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 저경력 중등교원들은 수업 설계와 실행 역량에 대해 가장 높은 인식을 보였으며, 학생 평가 역량을 가장 낮게 인식했다. 세 가지 영역의 역량 모두에서 예비교원교육과 현직 교원 연수는 유의한 정적 관계를 보였고, 교육과정 재구성 및 학생 평가 역량에 대해서는 교원학습공동체 참여도 유의미한 관계가 나타났다. 또한 교직 전 타 직업 경험은 세 개 영역의 교수·학습역량에 대해 정적 관련성을 맺는 요인으로 나타났다. 이를 토대로 본 연구는 저경력 중등교원의 교수·학습역량 강화를 위해 예비교원교육 및 현직연수의 질적 개선과 함께, 실질적인 교원학습공동체 운영의 필요성을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to examine early-career secondary teachers’ perceptions of their teaching and learning competencies and to analyze the relationship between their learning opportunities—including pre-service education, in-service training, and participation in professional learning communities—and their teaching and learning competencies. The data analysis focused on secondary school teachers with less than five years of teaching experience, utilizing data from the 2020 Seoul Education Longitudinal Study of Teachers (SELST). Descriptive statistics revealed that teachers perceived their competencies in lesson planning and implementation most positively, while their perceptions of assessment competencies were relatively lower. Pre-service teacher education and in-service training had a significant positive relationship with all three dimensions of competencies (curriculum reconstruction, lesson design and implementation, and assessment), and participation in professional learning communities also positively associated with curriculum reconstruction and assessment competencies. Additionally, prior work experience before entering the teaching profession had a positive association with all three competency domains. Based on these findings, we suggest the need for high-quality teacher preparation and training programs to foster and develop teaching and learning competencies during the early stages of a teaching career. We also highlight the value of professional learning communities in enhancing these competencies among early-career teachers.
