국문 초록

본 논문은 효과적인 인성교육을 위한 글쓰기 방안을 모색해 보고자 했다. 초·중·고에서의 인성교육이 그리 유효하지 못한 형편임을 고려할 때, 대학에서라도 인성교육을 제공할 필요가 있다고 판단했기 때문이다. 서론에서는 초·중·고에서의 인성교육 현실을 살펴보았고, 이어서 대학들이 인성교육을 강조하는 최근 실상을 살펴보았다. 제2장에서는 먼저 인성교육을 어떻게 정의해야 하는지를 고민해 보았고, 다음으로 교양글쓰기 교과에서 인성교육을 다루는 것이 어찌하여 적합한지를 고민해보았다. 제3장에서는 기존 사례를 비판적으로 살펴보았으며, 새로운 방법으로써 낯설게 하기를 토대로 한 에세이 쓰기를 제언해 보았다. 앞으로도 낯설게 하기를 토대로 한 에세이 쓰기를 더욱 발전시키는 작업 및 그 밖의 새로운 방법을 추가로 모색하는 작업이 지속적으로 요청된다.

영문 초록

This paper explores effective writing strategies for character education, with a particular focus on essay writing based on the technique of defamiliarization. Given the limited effectiveness of character education in elementary, middle, and high schools, this study argues for the necessity of implementing character education at the university level. The introduction examines the current state of character education in elementary, middle and high schools, followed by a review of the recent emphasis placed on character education within many universities. Chapter 2 discusses how character education can be defined and why writing classes in liberal education serve as a suitable context for its implementation. Chapter 3 critically analyzes previous studies and proposes essay writing based on defamiliarization as an alternative and innovative approach. The paper concludes by emphasizing the need for the continued development of essay writing based on defamiliarization and the exploration of other creative methods to further enhance character education.
