국문 초록

본 연구는 대학 글쓰기 수업에서의 휴타고지의 확장 및 실천 가능성에 대해 탐색하고 향후 대학 글쓰기 교육과정에 의미 있는 시사점을 제공하기 위해 수행되었다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 4년제 대학교양학부 글쓰기 수업 교수의 심층 면접하고 학습 자료, 성찰일지, 강의평가 등을 분석하였다. 연구결과. 첫째, 휴타고지는 글쓰기 수업에서의 학습자 맥락을 이해하는데 유용한 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과에 비추어 글쓰기는 개인적 경험에서 비롯되고 궁극적으로 주요 행위자인 학습자의 역량을 개발하는 전체론적 접근방법의 휴타고지 기본가정을 지지한다. 둘째, 참여자는 대학 글쓰기 수업에 휴타고지 원칙의 적용에 있어서 자기 주도적 학습자 중심의 수업으로 진행될 것과 글쓰기 수업의 궁극적인 목적인 학습의 전이 가능성 확대가 필요함을 강조하였다. 셋째, 대학생들은 글쓰기 경험이 적은 학습자들로서 합목적적 글쓰기의 거시구조인 목적이나 주제, 구조를 스스로 만들어내지 못한다고 한다. 추후 학습자들이 문제상황에서 긍정적 해결 방식을 배우고 그 수용 과정에서 새로운 길을 찾아내는 과정은 휴타고지의 이중 루프 학습 맥락과 적극적으로 맞닿아 있다고 해석할 수 있을 것이다. 향후 글쓰기 교육에서의 효과적인 휴타고지적 실천 전략을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to explore the possibility of applying and implementing heutagogy in college writing classes and to provide meaningful implications for future college writing education. To achieve this research purpose, we analyzed in-depth interview data, reflection journals, and lecture evaluations of liberal arts writing class professors. First, it was found that heutagogy was useful for understanding the learner context in writing classes. This result supports the basic assumption of heutagogy that writing is derived from personal experience and ultimately develops the capacity of learners as the main actors. Second, the participants emphasized that in applying the heutagogy principle to college writing classes, it should be conducted as a self-directed learner-centered class and that the ultimate goal of writing classes should be to expand the transferability of learning. Third, college students are learners with little writing experience and are said to be unable to create the purpose, topic, and structure of purposeful writing on their own. The process in which learners later learn positive problem-solving methods in problem situations and find new paths in the process of accepting them can be interpreted as actively connected to the double-loop learning context of heutagogy. Effective heutagogy strategies for future writing classes are also discussed.
