유치원 현장학습 실태 및 교사인식 조사 : 대구지역 사립유치원을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원의 현장학습의 실태를 파악함으로써 현장학습이 진정한 교육적 목적에 의해 계획, 실행, 평가될 수 있도록 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 수행되었다. 본 연구는 대구, 경북에 소재한 유치원에 재직 중인 교사 496명을 대상으로 질문지를 작성하도록 하였고 이를 SPSS20.0프로그램을 이용하여 통계처리 하였다. 또한 설문에 응한 교사 중 면담참여 의사를 밝힌 7개원 24명의 교사들을 대상으로 추가면담을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 현장학습의 계획, 준비 및 실행에 대하여 교사의 일반적인 배경변인(경력, 학력, 직위)에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었고 유치원변인(학급규모, 담당학급연령, 교원인력현황)에 따라서도 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 즉 유치원 및 교사의 특성에 따라 실행방법이 달라짐을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 유치원 현장학습의 효과적인 실행을 위해서는 보편적 접근보다는 유치원과 교사의 특성을 반영한 맞춤식 접근이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The aim of the research is to survey how field trips in early childhood education setting eachers and the questionnaire were applied to survey their ideas. The results were analyzed by SPSS 20.0 and the follow-up interviews were conducted to provide the useful information for figuring out how they conduct the field trips and what variables influence their decision for choosing site and frequence of field trip. The survey results were as follows: First, the frequency of field trips in kindergartens varied by the age of the children. Second, the most popular site for field trips were ‘natural attractions’, ‘historic sites, cultural venues’ and "Job Education Site. Third, the survey on how teachers prepared for field trips showed that teachers are encouraged to use examples in this guidebook as models to design their own locally-based field trips. And in order to make effective choices for field-trip site, teachers are urged to consider the ecological footprint of travelling to a distant site, as well as the potential enrichment of classroom learning, links to the curriculum, and student needs and opportunities. Fourth, teachers should consider that the field trips are not only much fun also very valuable learning experiences for young children. Fifth, teachers were concerned that the field trips in kindergartens are more likely to be cut due to financial reason or switch to visit less-enriching destinations. Moreover, teachers believe that field trips for children for the sole purpose of acquiring work skills need to be changed field trips that let young students have more exposure to culturally enriching experiences.
