국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생의 사회불안을 설명하는 주요 요인으로 자기불일치와 정서표현 양가성의 역할을 탐색하고, 정서표현 양가성이 자기불일치와 사회적 상호작용 불안 간의 관계를 매개하는지를 실증적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권 소재 대학생 206명을 대상으로 자기불일치, 정서표현 양가성, 사회적 상호작용 불안 척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 상관분석과 다중회귀분석, 그리고 매개효과 검증(부트스트래핑)을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 자기불일치는 사회불안에 정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 정서표현 양가성은 이 관계를 부분적으로 매개하였다. 즉, 자기불일치가 높을수록 정서표현의 갈등이 심화되고, 그 결과 사회불안이 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 대학생의 사회불안을 인지적 요인뿐 아니라 정서적 요인과 통합적으로 이해해야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the roles of self-discrepancy and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness as key factors influencing social anxiety among university students, and to empirically examine whether ambivalence over emotional expressiveness mediates the relationship between self-discrepancy and social interaction anxiety. A total of 206 students in the Seoul metropolitan area completed the Self-Discrepancy Scale, Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire, and Social Interaction Anxiety Scale, and the data were analyzed using correlation analysis, multiple regression, and a bootstrapping-based mediation test. The results indicated that self-discrepancy significantly increased social anxiety, and that ambivalence over emotional expressiveness partially mediated this effect. These findings highlight the need to understand university students’ social anxiety from an integrated perspective that includes both cognitive and emotional factors.
