국문 초록

본 연구는 여성폭력피해지원기관 종사자들이 피해자의 외상적 위기에 개입하고, 정서적 지지 및 실천적인 지원을 하는 과정에서 경험하는 소진의 본질적인 의미를 심층적으로 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 여성폭력피해지원기관에서 3년 이상 근무하며 소진과 회복을 경험한 종사자 4명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하고, Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 총 102개의 의미단위, 16개의 하위범주, 5개의 상위범주가 도출되었다. 도출된 상위범주는 ‘무너지는 균형의 서막’, ‘지쳐가는 몸과 마음의 온도’, ‘무너진 나를 마주하다’, ‘회복을 위한 발걸음’, ‘다시 묻는 존재의 이유’로 나타났다. 본 연구는 여성폭력피해지원기관 종사자의 소진 경험에 대한 심층적 이해를 제공하며, 이를 토대로 소진 예방 및 회복 지원 방안 방안을 모색하기 위한 실천적 시사점을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to deeply explore the essential meaning of burnout experienced by staff members in organizations supporting victims of gender-based violence (women's violence). This burnout occurs during the process of intervening in victims' traumatic crises and providing them with emotional support and practical assistance. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with four staff members who had worked for more than three years in a women's violence support organization and had experienced both burnout and recovery. The data were analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological research method. The analysis resulted in the extraction of 102 meaning units, 16 sub-categories, and 5 super-ordinate categories. The five super-ordinate categories identified are: 'The Overture to a Collapsing Balance', 'The Temperature of Exhausted Body and Heart', 'Facing the Shattered Self', 'Steps Toward Recovery', and 'Re-examining the Reason for Being'. This study provides a profound understanding of the burnout experience among staff in women's violence support organizations and suggests practical implications for developing prevention and recovery support measures based on these findings.
