국문 초록

본 연구는 한국의 디자인 교육 현장에 참여한 베트남 유학생들이 학습과정에서 경험하는 언어적·문화적·기술적 장벽을 심층적으로 탐구하였다. 여섯 명의 유학생을 대상으로 한 반구조화 인터뷰를 통해, 학습 참여과정에서 언어, 문화, 디지털 환경이 상호작용하며 복합적인 적응 어려움을 형성함을 확인하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 언어 장벽은 수업 이해뿐 아니라 실습 및 피드백 과정 전반에 영향을 미쳤으며, 영어·한국어 인터페이스 불일치가 학습 효율을 저하시켰다. 둘째, 문화적 차이는 수업 참여 방식과 피드백 수용 태도에 영향을 주어 초기 적응 부담을 가중시켰다. 셋째, 장비 접근의 불평등과 소프트웨어 사용 제약은 과제 수행의 질과 속도를 제한하였다. 이러한 결과는 언어·문화·기술적 요인을 통합적으로 고려한 하이브리드 지원 모델의 필요성을 시사한다. 이에 본 연구는 단기적으로는 피드백의 시각자료화, 기초 디지털 툴 워크숍 운영, 혼합 스터디 그룹 구성을 제안하며, 장기적으로는 유학생 친화형 커리큘럼, 디지털 리터러시교과 신설, 문화 적응 오리엔테이션, 기술 지원 센터 설립 등의 제도적 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 디자인 교육에서의 다문화 학습 환경 구축과 유학생 학습 경험의 질적 향상을 위한 실천적 근거를 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study explores the multifaceted challenges experienced by Vietnamese international students in Korean design education, focusing on linguistic, cultural, and technological adaptation barriers. Through semi-structured interviews with six participants, the findings reveal that language, culture, and digital environments interact dynamically to shape complex learning obstacles. First, linguistic barriers affected not only content comprehension but also design practice and feedback engagement, particularly when discrepancies existed between English and Korean software interfaces. Second, cultural differences influenced students’ participation patterns and interpretation of feedback, increasing the burden of initial adaptation. Third, unequal access to digital devices and software limited both the pace and quality of assignment completion. These results highlight the need for an integrated support model that bridges linguistic, cultural, and technological gaps. Accordingly, the study proposes short-term strategies such as visual and written feedback, introductory digital tool workshops, and mixed study groups, as well as long-term institutional policies including multicultural curriculum design, digital literacy courses, pre-semester orientation programs, and dedicated technical support centers. Ultimately, this research provides practical insights for enhancing educational inclusivity and learning equity in multicultural design classrooms.
