비전공자 대상 예술교육의 가능성 연구 : MIT 음악교과목을 중심으로 한 체험소양교육 모델 제안

국문 초록

본 연구는 비전공자를 대상으로 예술을 활용한 교육을 심미적 체험소양교육으로서 설계·운영을 위한 가능성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 MIT의 작곡·이론 교과목을 중심으로 사례 분석을 수행하고, 국내 공학계열 대학(카이스트·포항공대)과 비교하여 국내 대학의 맥락에서 적용 방안을 제안하였다. 연구방법으로는 MIT 강의계획서 및 공개 자료의 문헌분석을 통해 교육목표·교과구성·학습활동·평가 방식의 특징을 도출하였다. 다음으로 국내 사례의 강의계획서와 구조를 비교·대조하였다. 분석 결과 MIT는 대학의 교육철학(창조 정신 기반의 이론과 실천의 병행)을 기반으로 입문, 중급, 고급으로 연결되는 단계별 교육과정, 이론과 실습을 유기적으로 결합한 과제 중심 수업, 과정중심 평가체계를 운영하여 비전공자 대상 전문성을 갖춘 예술교육을 위한 구조를 갖추었다. 반면 국내 사례는 감상 중심의 과목 편성, 단계별 교육과정의 부재, 제도적·인프라적 한계로 인해 동일한 교육효과를 기대하기 어려웠다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 첫째, 교과 개발 단계에서의 명확한 교육적 의도 설정, 둘째, 학습 선택권과 단계적 모듈화 도입, 셋째, 실천 중심 과제와 과정중심 평가의 체계화, 넷째, 전담 조직·교원 역량 및 인프라 확충을 핵심 보완책으로 제안하였다. 연구는 강의계획서 기반 사례 분석이라는 한계를 가지며, 향후 파일럿프로그램 개발 및 운영을 통한 학습성과의 실증적 검증과 대학의 유형에 따른 맞춤 적용 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to explore the possibility of designing and operating education using art for non-majors as aesthetic experience literacy education. To this end, a case analysis was conducted centering on MIT's composition and theory subjects, and an application plan was proposed in the context of domestic universities compared to domestic engineering universities (KAIST and Pohang University of Science and Technology). As a research method, the characteristics of educational goals, subject composition, learning activities, and evaluation methods were derived through literature analysis of MIT lecture plans and open materials. Next, the lecture plans and structures of domestic cases were compared and contrasted. As a result of the analysis, MIT operates a step-by-step curriculum that connects introduction, intermediate, and advanced, a task-oriented class that organically combines theory and practice, and a process-oriented evaluation system that has a structure for art education with expertise for non-majors. On the other hand, in domestic cases, it was difficult to expect the same educational effect due to the composition of subjects centered on appreciation, the absence of a step-by-step curriculum, and institutional and infrastructure limitations. Based on this, this study proposed as a key supplementary measure: first, setting clear educational intentions at the subject development stage, second, introducing learning options and step-by-step modularization, third, systematizing practice-oriented tasks and process-oriented evaluation, and fourth, expanding dedicated organizations, teacher competencies, and infrastructure. Research has limitations in lecture plan-based case analysis, and in the future, empirical verification of learning outcomes through pilot program development and operation and customized application research according to the type of university are needed.
