국문 초록

본고는 문학텍스트를 활용하면 공학도의 회복탄력성 회복에 도움이 되는지 그 효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있었다. 이를 증명하기 위해 수업이 진행되기 전 문학텍스트를 배포하여 자신의 내면 상태를 점검하는 시간을 가졌다. 그리고 나서 문학텍스트 읽기가 회복탄력성을 이끌어내는 데 실제로 도움이 되는지를 살폈다. 긍정적으로 작용하는지에 대한 비교 분석을 위해 사전과 사후 설문조사를 하였다. 그 결과 기존에 기술했던 트라우마의 여러 형태가 사후에서는 많이 줄어들었음을 확인할 수가 있었다. 이로써 문학텍스트를 읽고 타인의 고통과 그 극복과정을 이해하는 것이 회복탄력성을 지니게 하는 데 도움이 되었음이 검증되었다. 그러나 본 연구의 설문조사 분석에 한계가 존재했음도 확인됐다. 표본이 적어 객관적인 데이터를 분석하기가 어려웠다는 점에서 그렇다. 그럼에도 문학텍스트가 회복탄력성을 찾는 데 긍정적인 역할을 했다는 유의미한 데이터가 도출되었기에 본고의 연구 결과는 의미가 있겠다.

영문 초록

The present study aimed to examine the efficacy of employing literary texts as a means of enhancing resilience among engineering students. To this end, participants were first prompted to reflect upon and describe past experiences that had left enduring psychological trauma. Prior to the commencement of the instructional sessions, selected literary texts were distributed to provide opportunities for introspection and self-assessment. Subsequently, the study investigated whether engagement with literary texts could effectively facilitate the development of resilience. To enable a comparative analysis of potential positive effects, both pre- and post-intervention surveys were administered. The findings revealed a substantial reduction in the intensity and variety of previously reported traumatic experiences in the post-intervention results. These outcomes suggest that reading literary texts and understanding others’ suffering and processes of recovery may meaningfully contribute to the cultivation of resilience. Nevertheless, certain methodological limitations were acknowledged, particularly the small sample size, which constrained the objectivity and generalizability of the data analysis. Despite these limitations, the empirical evidence obtained in this study underscores the positive role of literary engagement in fostering resilience, thereby affirming the scholarly significance of the findings.
