국문 초록

목적: 본 연구는 한국어 중급 학습자를 대상으로 과제 전 계획 활동이 한국어 말하기 수행 능력에 미치는 영향을 탐색하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 과제 수행 발화의 복잡성, 정확성, 유창성을 측정하고, 말하기 총체적 평가와 분석적 평가 점수를 채점하였다. 다음으로 인터뷰 설문을 통해 과제 전 계획 활동에 대한 학습자의 인식 조사를 실시하였다. 방법: 데이터 수집을 위해 한국어 중급 학습자 32명을 모집하였으며, 이들을 무작위 배정하여 통제 집단 10명, 실험 집단1(개별) 10명, 실험 집단2(협력) 12명으로 분류하여 이야기 서술하기 과제를 실시하였다. 이때, 통제 집단은 과제 전 계획 활동을 수행하지 않았으며, 실험 집단1과 2는 과제 전 계획 활동을 각각 개별과 협력으로 10분 동안 수행하였다. 결과: 과제 전 계획 활동을 수행한 집단에서 복잡성이 유의미하게 향상하였으며, 그중 개별 활동 집단과의 차이가 유의미하게 나타났다. 학습자의 인식 조사 결과에서는 학습자들이 협력 활동을 더 선호하고 있었다. 본 연구는 과제 전 계획 활동의 효용성을 검증하기 위해 말하기 수행 능력을 다차원적으로 분석하고자 하였다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study investigated the effects of pre-task planning on the Korean speaking performance of intermediate-level learners. To this end, the learners’ task performance was measured in terms of complexity, accuracy, and fluency, and their scores were evaluated through both holistic and analytic speaking assessments. In addition, a survey interview was conducted to examine learners’ perceptions of pre-task planning. Methods: Thirty-two intermediate-level Korean language learners were recruited and randomly assigned to one of three groups: a control group (n = 10), an individual pre- task planning group (n = 10), and a collaborative pre-task planning group (n = 12). All participants performed a narrative task. The control group engaged in no pre-task planning, whereas the two experimental groups carried out pre-task planning individually or collaboratively for 10 minutes, respectively. Results: Significant improvements in complexity were observed in the groups that engaged in pre-task planning, with the difference being statistically significant in the individual planning group. The perception survey, however, revealed that learners preferred collaborative planning over individual planning. Conclusion: This study is significant in that it verified the effectiveness of pre-task planning through a multidimensional analysis of speaking performance.
