국문 초록

목적: 이 연구는 우리나라와 캐나다 온타리오주 자국어 교육과정에 나타난 ‘성찰’ 개념의 의미를 비교·분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법: 분석 대상은 우리나라 ‘2022 개정 국어과 교육과정’과 캐나다 온타리오주 자국어 교육과정인 ‘Language(2023)’이다. 두 국가의 교육과정에서 ‘성찰(reflection)’이 포함된 문장을 수집하고, 언어 네트워크 분석을 실시하였다. 결과: 캐나다 온타리오주 자국어 교육과정은 성찰을 주로 학습자의 비판적 사고력 함양의 관점에서 강조하고 있었다. 반면, 우리나라 2022 개정 국어과 교육과정은 성찰을 자기 인식과 공동체적 태도 형성의 관점에서 제시하고 있었으며, 반성적 사고와 관계 인식을 중심으로 강조하였다. 결론: 성찰은 자기반성을 넘어서 비판적 사고, 사회적 맥락에 대한 인식, 공동체적 책임감까지 포괄하는 복합적 사고 과정으로 이해할 필요가 있다. 이러한 점에서 향후 우리나라 국어과 교육과정에서 비판적 사고의 측면을 보완한다면, 성찰의 개념을 보다 확장하여 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the meaning of the concept of ‘reflection’ as it appears in the Korean national language curriculum and the Ontario Language Curriculum (2023) Methods: The subjects of analysis are the ‘2022 Revised Korean Language Curriculum’ of Korea and the ‘Language (2023)’ curriculum of Ontario, Canada. Sentences containing the term ‘reflection’ were collected from the curricula of both countries, and a semantic network analysis was conducted. Results: The ‘Ontario Language Curriculum (2023)’ primarily emphasized reflection from the perspective of fostering learners’ critical thinking skills. In contrast, the ‘2022 Revised Korean Language Curriculum’ presented reflection from the perspective of self-awareness and the formation of community attitudes, with an emphasis on reflective thinking and an awareness of relationships. Conclusion: Reflection should be viewed as a complex cognitive process that encompasses not only self-reflection but also critical thinking, an awareness of social context, and a sense of community responsibility. In this regard, if the critical thinking aspect is supplemented in the future Korean language curriculum, the concept of reflection can be applied in a more expanded way.
