국문 초록

목적: 본 연구의 목적은 중국인 중·고급 한국어 학습자가 사용하는 연결어미 ‘-더니’와 유사한 문법 항목을 체계적으로 분류하고, 효과적인 교육 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 한국어의 연결어미는 다양한 의미적 기능을 가지며, 유사한 표현들이 공존하여 학습자들이 혼동을 겪기 쉽다. 이에 본 연구는 ‘-더니’와 의미·기능적으로 유사한 연결어미 목록을 추출하고, 학습자들이 정확한 사용법을 익힐 수 있도록 교육적 접근법을 모색한다. 방법: 본 연구는 국립국어원의 학습자 오류 주석 말뭉치를 활용하여 ‘-더니’ 관련 오류의 양상과 빈도를 분석하였다. 또한, AntConc를 활용하여 오류의 유형과 출현 빈도를 통계적으로 검토하고, 기존 한국어 교재 및 문법서에서 ‘-더니’와 유사한 표현들이 어떻게 설명되고 있는지를 비교·분석하였다. 이를 통해 학습자들이 가장 혼동하는 문법 항목을 도출하고, 교육적 개선점을 모색하였다. 결과: 학습자들은 주로 ‘-더니’를 ‘-었더니’, ‘-(으)니’ 등의 유사한 연결어미와 혼동하는 경향이 있으며, 특히 인과, 대조, 계기적 의미의 구분에서 오류가 빈번하게 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 오류는 주로 중·고급 학습자의 글쓰기에서 두드러지며, 명확한 의미 차이를 학습하지 못한 경우 특정 표현만을 과잉 사용하거나 회피하는 경향이 있었다. 결론: 연구 결과를 바탕으로 ‘-더니’와 유사한 문법 항목들을 체계적으로 대비하는 교육 방안을 제안하였다. 특히, 학습자가 문법 항목 간의 의미적·화용적 차이를 직관적으로 이해할 수 있도록 맥락 중심의 예문과 비교 학습 전략을 활용한 교수법을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 한국어 문법 교육에서 유사 연결어미 학습의 중요성을 재조명하고, 학습자의 문법 활용 능력을 향상시키는 데 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to extract a list of grammatical expressions similar to the connective ending ‘-더니’ used by intermediate and advanced Chinese learners of Korean and to propose effective teaching strategies. Given the complexity of Korean connective endings, which vary in meaning and function, learners often struggle with distinguishing subtle semantic and pragmatic differences among similar expressions. Methods: This study analyzed annotated learner corpus data to examine the patterns of errors related to ‘-더니’ and its similar grammatical structures. Data were collected from the National Institute of Korean Language’s learner error corpus, and error frequency and distribution were analyzed using AntConc. Additionally, a comparative analysis of existing Korean language textbooks and grammar references was conducted to identify common confusion points and gaps in instructional materials. Results: The findings indicate that learners frequently confuse ‘-더니’ with other connective endings such as ‘-었더니’ and ‘-(으)니’ due to overlapping functions related to causation, contrast, and sequential events. Most errors appeared in intermediate to advanced learners’ writing, suggesting that explicit instruction on the nuanced distinctions of ‘-더니’ is necessary. Conclusion: Based on the analysis, this study proposes a structured teaching approach that systematically contrasts ‘-더니’ with similar grammatical structures, providing learners with targeted exercises and contextualized usage examples. The study highlights the importance of differentiated instruction in Korean grammar education, particularly for non-native speakers struggling with similar connective endings.
