국문 초록

목적: 본 연구는 사자성어 유형에 따른 중국인 고급 한국어 학습자들의 사자성어 회피 양상을 분석함으로써, 효과적인 사자성어 교육을 위한 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법: TOPIK 6급 자격 및 CATTI 번역 자격증을 모두 보유한 중국인 고급 한국어 학습자 32명을 대상으로 사자성어 사용 유도 테스트를 실시하여 사자성어 유형에 따른 학습자들의 사자성어 사용 및 회피 양상을 확인하였다. 결과: 중국인 고급 한국어 학습자들은 사자성어 범주 전반에 대해 사용을 회피하는 경향을 보이지 않았으며, 학습자 간 수준 차이에 따른 유의미한 차이 또한 통계적으로 발견되지 않았다. 다만, 사자성어 유형에 따른 사용 양상에는 뚜렷한 차이가 나타났다. 결론: 본 연구는 그동안 한국어교육 분야에서 상대적으로 간과되어 온 사자성어에 대한 학습자의 인식 및 사용 양상을 조명함으로써, 중국인 고급 학습자를 위한 효율적인 사자성어 교육 방향을 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the avoidance patterns of four- character idioms among advanced Chinese learners of Korean, with a focus on idiom types, in order to derive pedagogical implications for more effective instruction. Methods: A total of 32 advanced Chinese learners who hold both TOPIK Level 6 and the CATTI translation certificate participated in a task designed to elicit the use of four-character idioms. The study examined how idiom type influenced their avoidance behaviors. Results: Overall, the learners did not show a tendency to avoid using four-character idioms, and no statistically significant differences were found across proficiency levels. However, notable variation in usage patterns was observed depending on the type of idiom. Conclusion: By shedding light on learners’ perception and use of four-character idioms, which has been a relatively neglected topic in the field of Korean language education, this study offers meaningful insights into effective instructional approaches for advanced Chinese learners.
