국문 초록

본 연구는 영화 <그 여자 작사 그 남자 작곡>의 각 이야기 단계와 프로덕션디자인 스토리텔링을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이야기 단계별 분석 결과, 이 작품은 프롤로그에서 뮤직비디오 형식을 활용하여 시대적 배경에 대한 관객의 관심을 유도하는 전략을 구사했다. 발단에서는 이야기의 시간적 범위를 설정하며, 도발적 사건 단계에서는 사건 그 자체보다 인물들의 결정이 중요한 역할을 한다. 전개에서는 인물들의 과거를 드러내어 관객이 내면세계를 이해하도록 돕고, 인물 간의 관계와 서사를 진전시킨다. 위기는 주인공들의 상황이 달라지는 분기점으로 기능하며, 절정에서는 관객의 기대를 배반하면서도 동시에 욕구를 충족시키는 극적 전환이 이루어진다. 결말에서는 오히려 절정에서 관객이 보고자 했던 장면을 제시하며 인물들의 최종 목표 추구가 무엇인지를 설명하고, 에필로그는 결말의 완결성에 의해 이야기에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 한편, 프로덕션디자인 스토리텔링 분석 결과, 이 영화는 시대적·정서적 맥락과 인물의 변화를 표현하는 데 이를 활용하고 있다. 특히, 관객이 등장인물을 1980년대 스타와 현재 시점의 아이돌로 자연스럽게 인식하도록 하는 장치들을 배치하였으며, ‘블랙’이라는 전문가의 색을 의상에 적용함으로써 인물의 전문성 확립과 정체성 전환을 강조하였다. 또한, 장신구, 헤어스타일, 의상의 변화는 이야기의 의미를 심화시키는 동시에, 서사적 결함을 시각적으로 보완하는 기능을 수행하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze each story phase of ‘Music and Lyrics’ and its production-design storytelling. This study found out that this film work adopted a storytelling strategy that would induce the audience to have interest in the historical background by using a music video in the prologue. In the phase of beginning, the time-based range of the story was established, and in the phase of inciting incident, characters’ decisions played important roles, rather than incidents themselves. In the phase of development, some characters’ past was revealed, further helping the audience understand the inner world and developing relations between characters and the story itself. The phase of crisis functioned as a turning point that changed protagonists’ situations, and in the phase of climax, the audience experienced their story expectation being betrayed, while their desires were being satisfied. In the phase of ending, the film presented a scene that the audience wanted to see, explaining what final goals each character pursued. When analyzing the production-design storytelling, this study discovered that this film work adopted this technique to express the historical and emotional contexts of the story and changes in the characters. Especially, appropriate cinematic devices and settings were arranged so that the audience could naturally come to recognize the characters as stars in the 1980s and idols at present, and applying ‘Black’, the color of specialists, to the costume helped expose changes in the identity of characters and establish professionalism.
