With the increasing challenges faced by college student management, the traditional rigid management model gradually exposed its limitations, and the concept of flexible management came into being, which showed its unique advantages in college student management. This paper aims to explore the application strategy and practical effect of flexible management concept in college student management. By analyzing the basic concepts of flexible management and the differences between it and the traditional management mode, this paper puts forward that the concept of flexible management can improve students' sense of participation, belonging and mental health through personalized management, emotional support and teacher-student interaction. This paper also deeply analyzes the practical application strategies of flexible management in colleges and universities, including establishing humanized teacher-student relationship, paying attention to students' individual needs, encouraging students' autonomy and sense of responsibility, etc. Combined with specific cases, this paper analyzes the practical effect of flexible management in promoting academic performance, improving self-management ability and optimizing the construction of study style. This paper points out the challenges faced by flexible management in the implementation process, such as students' personalized differences, teachers' lack of management experience and increased management costs, and puts forward corresponding improvement strategies. The research shows that the concept of flexible management can effectively improve the effect of college student management and provide new ideas and methods for college management.
