국문 초록

이 연구는 AI 읽기 환경에서 독자의 목적 설정 양상을 탐색하기 위해, 대학생 독자 5명의 읽기 중 사고구술 자료를 분석했다. RESOLV 모형의 맥락 모형과 과제 모형 개념을 토대로 독자들이 읽기 과정에서 어떤 사회적, 물리적 차원을 고려해 맥락 모형을 구성하고 어떤 목표와 수단을 구체화해 과제 모형을 표상하는지를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 자기 자신을 고려한 독자들은 주제에 관한 자신의 지식을 메타인지적으로 인식하거나 읽기 과정을 점검·평가하며 맥락 모형을 구성했고, 부족한 지식을 보완하거나 자료를 탐색하고자 하는 목표를 설정했다. 둘째, 지지 요소 및 방해 요소를 고려한 독자들은 ChatGPT의 기능과 한계를 중심으로 맥락 모형을 구성했으며, ChatGPT의 기능적 이점을 활용하거나 ChatGPT로 인한 문제를 해결하기 위한 목표를 설정했다. 독자가 직면한 상황에 따라 목표는 달리 나타났으나 목표 달성을 위한 수단은 적절한 프롬프트를 입력하는 것에 국한되는 양상을 보였다. 셋째, 요구 사항을 고려한 독자들은 동일한 과제 안내문일지라도 주목하는 부분이 각기 달랐으며, 맥락 모형을 구성하는 시점과 목표 설정 양상에서도 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 종합해 AI 읽기 환경에서 독자의 역량 증진을 위한 교육적 시사점을 제시했다.

영문 초록

This study examined patterns of purpose setting in an AI reading environment by analyzing think-aloud protocols from five undergraduate students. Using the concept of context model and task model in RESOLV model, the study examined how readers constructed context models by considering social and physical dimensions during reading and how they represented task models by specifying goals and means. The analysis revealed three key findings. First, readers who represented a self context model engaged in metacognitive recognition of their prior knowledge or monitored and evaluated their reading process while setting goals to supplement their knowledge or explore materials. Second, readers who represented a support or obstacle context model considered ChatGPT’s functions and limitations, setting goals to utilize its functional advantages or address problems arising from its use. The means to achieve these goals were largely confined to inputting appropriate prompts, though the goals varied depending on the situation. Third, readers who represented the request context model attended to different parts of the same task instruction, showing variations in how they set goals. Based on these findings, the study derived educational implications for fostering readers’ competencies in AI reading environments.
