Z세대 대학생과 교수의 핵심역량 인식 차이 분석에 기초한 교양교육 운영 시사점 - I 대학 사례를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 Z세대 대학생과 교수자 간의 핵심역량 인식 차이를 실증적으로 분석하여 현재 교양교육의 운영 방안에 대한 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 대상은 I 대학의 재학생 2,120명과 교양교육 담당 교수자 29명이며, 온라인 설문 조사를 통해 수집된 자료는 다중응답 빈도분석과 교차분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 미래 핵심역량의 중요도에 대해 두 집단 모두 공통적으로 의사소통, 문제해결, 창의·융합 역량을 중요하다고 인식하였고, 교수자는 협업·인성 역량을, 학생은 도전·창조 역량을 상대적으로 더 중요하게 인식하였다. 부족한 핵심역량에 대한 인식에서도 교수자는 학생들의 의사소통과 협업 능력 부족을 지적한 반면, 학생들은 창의·융합과 도전·창조 역량의 부족을 느끼고 있었다. 계열별 분석에서는 인문사회계열과 예술체육계열은 의사소통 역량을, 이공계열은 창의·융합 역량을, 경상계열은 문제해결 역량을 각각 중요하게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 Z세대의 특성과 요구를 반영한 맞춤형 교양교육과정의 개편과 계열별 차별화된 교육 전략 수립, 학습자 참여형 교수법으로의 전환, 세대 간 인식 차이 해소를 위한 상호 이해 증진 등의 교육적 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to empirically analyze the perception gap in core competencies between Generation Z university students and faculty members and to draw implications for the management of liberal arts education. The participants were 2,120 undergraduate students and 29 faculty members responsible for liberal arts education at I University. Data collected through an online survey were analyzed using multiple response frequency analysis and cross-tabulation. The findings revealed that both groups perceived communication, problem-solving, and creativity/convergence as important core competencies for the future. However, faculty members placed greater emphasis on collaboration/character, while students regarded challenge/innovation as more critical. In terms of core competencies perceived as lacking, faculty members pointed to students’ deficiencies in communication and collaboration, whereas students noted shortcomings in creativity/convergence and challenge/innovation. An analysis by academic discipline further showed that students in the humanities, social sciences, and arts/sports prioritized communication, those in science and engineering emphasized creativity/convergence, and those in business and economics valued problem-solving most highly. Based on these results, the study proposes several educational implications, including reorganizing the liberal arts curriculum to reflect the characteristics and needs of Generation Z, developing differentiated strategies for each academic discipline, shifting toward learner-centred participatory teaching methods, and fostering mutual understanding to bridge perception gaps between generations.
