국문 초록

본 연구는 AI 번역 시대에 기계번역에 대한 일반이용자와 전문번역사의 인식 차이를 비교·분석하였다. 135명을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과, 두 집단 모두 기계번역의 사용 용이성과 수용성에서는 대체로 긍정적인 태도를 보였다. 그러나 번역 품질과 관련된 평가에서는 뚜렷한 차이가 드러났다. 일반이용자는 기계번역 결과가 목적 달성에 충분히 유용하다고 평가한 반면, 전문번역사는 문화적 감성 전달과 정확성·신뢰성 측면에서 낮은 점수를 부여하였다. 또한 일반이용자는 학습·여가 등 일상적 맥락에서, 전문번역사는 번역 아이디어 도출 및 포스트에디팅 등 업무 보조 도구로 기계번역을 활용하였다. 본 연구는 기술수용모델(TAM)에 번역학적 요소를 접목하여 사용자 중심의 비교 연구를 시도함으로써, 번역 교육 및 산업 정책에 실질적 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the perception gap regarding machine translation (MT) in the era of AI translation by comparing general users and professional translators. A survey of 135 participants reveals that both groups show generally positive attitudes toward the usability and acceptability of MT. However, significant differences emerge in the evaluation of translation quality. General users perceive MT outputs as sufficiently useful for achieving their purposes, whereas professional translators assign lower ratings to cultural sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability. Moreover, general users primarily employ MT for everyday contexts such as learning and leisure, while professional translators use it as an auxiliary tool for generating translation ideas and post-editing. By extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with translation-specific factors, this study offers a user-centered comparative analysis, providing practical implications for translation education and industry policy.
