국문 초록

본 연구는 불확실성과 불안이 심화된 현대 사회에서 대학생들이 자아존중감과 자기효능감을 회복하며 삶의 주체로 성장할 수 있도록 아들러의 격려 개념을 대학 교양교육에 적용하는 교육적 가능성을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 아들러 심리학의 격려에 대해 고찰하고 관련 문헌 검토를 통해 대학 교양교육에 적용 가능한 교수·학습 전략을 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 격려는 개인이 자신의 가치를 인식하고 내면의 동기를 회복하고 동력을 얻는 심리적 자원으로서의 역할을 할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이와 함께, 대학 교양교육 내 교과 및 비교과 프로그램을 통해 아들러의 격려 개념이 다양한 방식으로 적용될 수 있는 가능성에 주목하였다. 즉, 격려의 개념은 수업 및 풍토 조성에, 그 기법과 프로그램은 교양 교과 및 비교과 과정에 반영될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 기반으로 앞으로 대학 교양교육에서는 격려 개념을 활용한 교수·학습 프로그램의 체계적 개발과 실천적 확장이 이루어질 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate how Adler’s concept of encouragement can be applied to general education to foster university students’ self-esteem, self-efficacy, and autonomous growth in a society marked by uncertainty and anxiety. To this end, the study examined Adlerian encouragement and reviewed relevant literature to propose teaching and learning strategies applicable to university general education. The study found that encouragement serves as a psychological resource through which individuals come to acknowledge their self-worth, recover intrinsic motivation, and derive renewed drive. In addition, the study highlights the potential for Adler’s concept of encouragement to be applied in diverse ways within university general education. Specifically, it was confirmed that the concept of encouragement can be applied to classroom practices and the creation of a supportive school climate, while its techniques and programs can be integrated into liberal arts courses and extracurricular activities. This study suggests that future general education can evolve through systematic development and practical application of encouragement-based programs.
