국문 초록

만화를 보는 두 가지 인식이 있다. 웃음을 유발하는 가벼운 볼거리라는 인식과, 다양한 방식으로 당대의 이데올로기를 담고 있는 문화적 결과물이라는 인식이 그것이다. 이 논문은 1970년대 이상무의 아동만화 <주근깨>(1972)와 <비둘기 합창>(1978)을 소년담론의 생산이라는 관점으로 서술하였다. 당시는 박정희가 대통령 종신제를 위한 유신체제를 선언함으로 다른 어떤 시기보다 사회적 긴장이 높았던 시기였다. 박정희는 집권 초기부터 다양한 제도를 통해 만화에 대한 심의와 통제를 강화하기 시작했는데, 이는 만화의 대중적 파급력 내부에 기성 질서에 대한 저항적 성격이 있음을 간파한 정치적 전략 과정이었다. 이 논문은 유신정권기 한국 아동만화에 재현된 소년을 당대의 사회적 맥락이 만들어낸 하나의 담론으로 설정하고, 담론의 내부에 존재하는 이데올로기와 권력의지를 드러내는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 결과, ‘가족주의 이데올로기의 재현’, ‘고난 극복 주체로서의 소년’, ‘경쟁을 통한 승리의 획득’이라는 담론이 내재 되어 있음을 확인했다. 아동만화는 특정한 세대에 작용하는 제도이지만, 그 세대는 지속적으로 성장한다는 점에서 만화를 이해하는 방식이 당시의 아동은 물론 현재까지 이어지는 축적된 질서라는 시각으로 이해되어야 함을 알게 되었다.

영문 초록

Cartoons are a lighthearted spectacle that provokes laughter, but they are also cultural outcomes that contain the ideology of the time in a variety of ways. This paper describes Lee Sang-moo's children's cartoons (1972) and (1978) from the perspective of the production of boy discourse. At that time, Park Chung-hee began to strengthen the deliberation and control of cartoons through various institutions from the beginning of his administration, which was a political strategy process that recognized that there was a resistance to the established order within the mass impact of cartoons. The purpose of this paper is to establish the boy represented in Korean children's cartoons in the 1970s as a discourse created by the social context of the time, and to reveal the ideology and will to power that exist within the discourse. The research results confirmed the existence of discourses such as ‘representation of the ideology of familism’, ‘boys as overcoming hardships’, and ‘acquiring victory through competition’. Children's cartoons are a system that works on a specific generation, but since that generation continues to grow, I learned that the way to understand cartoons should be understood from the perspective of the accumulated order that continues to the present as well as the children of the time.
